DRK Nails XL Designer 1 Stamping Plate Review

Today I bring you a long overdue review of DRK Nails XL Designer 1 stamping plate. I received a plate in the beginning of the year and started playing with it. Soon, I realised that some designs weren't etched properly. I contacted the brand and they sent me another one. This is why it took me a while to post the review because I wanted a perfect plate to show you and also give my kudos to the brand for such a great customer service! Yay! :D 

Hoje trago-vos a review de uma placa de carimbo que já devia ter sido postada há algum tempo. Refiro-me à placa DRK Nails XL Designer 1. Esta já foi lançada há vários meses atrás, mas a que na altura recebi para rever tinha uma parte que não estava bem gravada e logo, carimbava mal. Falei com a marca e a Kátia imediatamente disponibilizou-se a enviar-me uma nova. Assim sendo, aguardei para rever a mesma e aproveitei esta situação para referir e sublinhar o atendimento ao cliente de excelência da marca! Espectacular! :D

DRK Nails XL Designer 1 is gorgeous and huge stamping plate! There's so many designs to choose from! From geometric, flowery to birds designs, there's something for everyone I think ;) I still haven't used even half of the plate so far hahah (in the end of the post there's a collage with all the nail arts I've done). I found no issue with this plate, stamping is just perfection! The etching of the designs allows to stamp with some calm. You still need to be fast, but not that fast haha. It's a good stamping plate for beginners ;)

Esta placa de carimbo da DRK Nails é simplesmente linda e enorme! Tem tantos desenhos por onde escolher, de entre geométricos, a flores e pássaros que eu ainda não a consegui usar toda! No fim do post tem uma colagem com as todas as manicures que já fiz com esta placa ;) Acredito que tem desenhos para satisfazer todos os gostos. Quanto ao carimbar em si, não encontrei o mínimo defeito. A profundidade de gravação permite carimbar com alguma calma, não muita, mas certamente mais lentamente que outras marcas. Este é um dos principais motivos pelo qual considero que é uma placa excelente para quem se está a iniciar na técnica de carimbar :)

This was the first time I made a radial gradient. That is why the gradient isn't quite centered as it should be in the middle of the nail haha I'm practicing :p I made the radial gradient using a make up sponge and Cult Nails Evolution (peach), Kiko 337 Viola Pervinca (purple) and China Glaze For Audrey (aqua green). Afterwards I stamped with Mundo de Uñas White stamping polish. I LOVE this - such a gorgeous effect!! <3

A primeira vez que me aventurei e fiz um gradiente radial foi nesta manicure :p O gradiente nem está correctamente centrado na unha hehe estou a praticar ;) Fiz então o gradiente com uma esponja e usei os vernizes Cult Nails Evolution (pêssego), Kiko 337 Viola Pervinca (roxo) e China Glaze For Audrey (verde água). Depois carimbei de branco o padrão florido e... ficou espectacular!!! *-*

The following nail art is a Mix n Match' featuring Esmaltes da Kelly Lóngjun (gorgeous red holo!), Jade Black Tie (black glitter) and OPI Love Angel Music Baby. I stamped over a regular white the tiger pattern. The stamping polish was Mundo de Uñas Black. I also love this ^^

A nail art que se segue é uma mix n' match feita com os vernizes Esmaltes da Kelly Lóngjun (que belo holográfico vermelho!), Jade Black Tie (glitter preto) e OPI Love Angel Music Baby. Sobre banco regular carimbei o desenho de tigre com o verniz de carimbo preto Mundo de Uñas Black :)

Last but not least, we have a more soft nail art ;) I applied two coats of Esmalteria da KK #PQPurple in the ring finger and three of Seche Vite Top Coat. This indie purple polish is quite sparkly but it needed more top coat to make it smoother. In the other nails I applied two coats of Morgan Taylor Magician's Assistant, stamped with Mundo de Uñas White and placed some dots with the purple glitter. This flower pattern is possibly the most famous design of DRK nails XL Designer 1 stamping plate! <3 

Por fim, mas não menos importante, temos uma nail art delicada ;) Apliquei duas camadas do verniz artesanal Esmalteria da KK #PQPurple no dedo anelar, seguido de três camadas do top coat Seche Vite. Este glitter roxo brilha imenso, mas "bebe" bastante top coat para ficar com a textura suave. Nas restantes unhas apliquei duas camadas do verniz Morgan Taylor Magician's Assistant, carimbei o padrão de flores com o verniz de carimbo Mundo de Uñas White e coloquei bolinhas com o glitter roxo : Ficou adorável! <3 Aliás, acho que este padrão é o mais famoso da placa haha.

Kinetics KP299 Ice Smoothie & EDK Sweet Pink

Today I bring you a combination I used last week with Kinetics Ice Smoothie and EDK Sweet Pink. EDK stands for Esmaltes da Kelly, an indie brand from Brazil which I love and have posted around here before. 

Hoje trago-vos uma combinação que usei na semana passada com os vernizes Kinetics Ice Smoothie e EDK Sweet Pink. Eu sei que sabem, mas de qualquer forma, EDK significa Esmaltes da Kelly; é uma marca de vernizes artesanal Brasileira feita pela Kelly, sendo que anteriormente já postei outros vernizes dela por estas bandas.

Kinetics Ice Smoothie is one of the two polishes I bought from the Fall/Winter Penguin Galaxy collection. I found the this purple shade to be quite interesting and pretty :) I'm happy to say that the formula is also great and super pigmented! This is two coats although it easily could have been one. However, it stained my nails blue and after asking my blogger friends, none experienced the same as I did. Sweet Pink by Esmaltes da Kelly is a very simple glitter, only composed of pink microglitter in a transparent base. I applied it only near the tips and then stamped the lovely design from Lesly LS-107 plate with Barry M Gold Foil.

O verniz Kinetics Ice Smoothie é um dos dois vernizes que comprei da colecção Outono/inverno Penguin Galaxy da marca. O tom roxo tem algo de especial que captivou-me na hora. Posso confirmar que a formula do verniz é óptima e super pigmentada. Apliquei duas camadas apesar de uma ser quase suficiente. O único senão é que fiquei com as unhas manchadas de azul... mas depois de perguntar às amigas que já o usaram, verifiquei que estas não tiveram o mesmo problema que eu. De qualquer forma, reforcem a base quando usarem este verniz da Kinetics. Já o verniz EDK Sweet Pink é dos glitter mais simples possíveis hehe; é constituído basicamente por microglitter rosa numa base transparente. Apliquei-o junto às pontas das unhas, sendo que de seguida carimbei-as com o desenho fofo da placa Lesly LS-107 com o verniz Barry M Gold Foil.

I loved it so much!! The pink glitter is hidden by the design, but it kinda shows through in certain lights and I love that haha. See you soo and kisses :)

EDK Wolfsbane

Hi loves! :)

While I'm doing my nails for tomorrow's In Beauty beauty fair in Lisbon, I thought I'd share with you a manicure I did before breaking my pointy finger. My nails were huge... no wonder I broke them!

Enquanto estou aqui a fazer a manicure para o evento deste fim de semana - In Beauty na Meo Arena - lembrei-me de partilhar convosco uma nail art que fiz antes de partir a unha do dedo indicador. Aliás, as minhas unhas estavam tão grandes que realmente não é de admirar terem partido -.-'.

My idea was to do a glitter gradient with EDK Wolfsbane and leave it like that. But the next day things evolved into stamping :p EDK (aka Esmaltes da Kelly) in a Brazilian indie brand that I very much like. Lucky for me, I was able to get my nails in several EDK polishes last month :) Wolfsbane is a heavy purple glitter in a translucent base (Nubar Violet Sparkle dupe). I paired it with Kiko Quick Dry 829. For the stamping, I used Orly Voyeuristic Adventure and the image from Sugar Bubbles Nails SB016 plate.

Incialmente, a minha ideia era só fazer um gradiente com o glitter EDK Wolfsbane junto das cutículas. Mas entretanto, no dia seguinte acabei por carimbar :p EDK (i.e. Esmaltes da Kelly), é uma marca de vernizes artesanal Brasileira que aprecio muito; felizmente para mim, no mês passado consegui alguns frasquinhos depois de muito tempo sem nenhum novo ^^ Wolfsbane é um glitter forte roxo numa base transparente (dupe do nubar Violet Sparkle). Brilha imenso quando tem top coat, caso contrário seca quase com textura arenosa. Apliquei-o sobre o verniz Kiko Quick Dry 829. Na nail art de carimbo usei o desenho da placa Sugar Bubbles SB016 e o verniz Orly Voyeuristic Adventure.

In the end, I think i prefered the non stamping version hehe. What's your opinion? EDK polishes are available from Llarowe as well as DRK Nails web shops :) Now excuse me, I'm off to kill some werewolves in my dreams! :p Kisses,

Esmaltes da Kelly Ocean

Well, hello there! :)

This week we had some shiny days and please, what other excuse does a girl need to bring out her holographic polishes?? lol None! :p I seem to have a few untried ones in my collection and was secretly desiring to use Esmaltes da Kelly Ocean by the lovely brazilian indie maker Kelly :)

Os dias solarengos desta semana despertaram-me a vontade de usar um verniz holográfico. Quer dizer, a vontade esteve sempre lá, mas é claro que não quero usar um verniz com este acabamento e estar nublado lá fora ;) O escolhido foi o Esmaltes da Kelly Ocean feito pela criadora de vernizes artesanais brasileira, a Kelly :)

This is a special polish to me because it was a gift from Rafa! *_* Since Kelly released it, I had my eyes drooling until Rafa came along :D Ocean is... well, a gorgeous ocean blue shade! Actually, the holography isn't at its fullest in my pictures, its much better! A beautiful rainbow :) This is two easy coats and the polish is very pigmented. I didn't apply top coat but I reckon a bit of more shine would do wonders and prevent a couple of bubbles that arised ;)

Este verniz carrega consigo um sentimento especial porque foi-me oferecido pela Rafa! *_* Desde que a Kelly o lançou que me tem roubado muitos suspiros... até que fui salva ;) O Ocean é... bem, um fantástico verniz azul profundo! Infelizmente as fotos não mostram todo a sua holografia; é muito melhor! :) A pigmentação é muita boa e a cor fecha com duas camadas (quase que basta uma). Não apliquei top coat e a verdade é que se calhar um brilho extra ia fazer-lhe maravilhas, além de também eliminar algumas bolhas que se formaram ;)

Esmaltes da Kelly Salvatore

Hello ladies :)

Sometimes you fall in love with a polish color and texture, other times you really like the name and buy the polish for that reason... But there's those times when everything fits perfectly well and you fall in love with the color and name! This is what happened to me with EDK (Esmaltes da Kelly) Salvatore! *_* 

Às vezes uma pessoa apaixona-se pela cor e textura de um verniz, outras vezes gosta realmente é do nome do verniz e compra-o... Mas também há aquelas vezes em que o Universo sintoniza e morremos de amor pela cor e nome! Foi isto que me sucedeu com o EDK (Esmaltes da Kelly) Salvatore! *_*

Does the name ring a bell?? Haha yes! The Salvatore brothers from Vampire Diaries tv series caught my heart a few years ago and I still can't pick my favorite one, I love them both!

O nome recorda-vos algo?? lool sim! Os irmãos Salvatore da série The Vampire Diaries conquistaram-me o coração há anos e eu ainda não consigo escolher o meu favorito, adoro-os aos dois!

I'm truly sorry I couldn't capture this polish real beauty with my camera. EDK Salvatore is much more shiny and stunning because of the holographic glitter. Salvatore is filled with red glitter and holographic microglitter in a red tinted base. There's also some random black glitters that a friend of mine told me he thought I placed them strategically hehe :p it has so much sparkle, even in low lightning *.* Here's a couple of pictures indoors.

Lamento imenso não ter conseguido captar a verdadeira beleza deste verniz com a minha camera. O EDK Salvatore é muito mais vivo e vibrante devido ao seu glitter holográfico. Ele contém glitter vermelho e microglitter holográfico numa base jelly avermelhada. Contém também glitter preto aleatório que um amigo meu pensou que eu tinha colocado estrategicamente na unhas lol. Ele brilha muito, inclusivé em ambientes com pouca luz *.* Eis algumas fotos dentro de casa

EDK bottles are so sweet, I truly love the cute red bow but this time I had to manage not to smudge my nails while applying the polish. Salvatore applies very easily and I did one generous coat over Miss Broadway Col. 07 polish followed by two coats of Seche Vite to smooth the glitter surface and add an extra shine :). Outdoors the red becames more bloody red and really flashy, I love it! :)

Os frasquinhos EDK são tão fofos. Adoro verdadeiramente o lacinho vermelho, mas desta vez atrapalhou-me um pouco a aplicação do verniz porque não queria nem sujar o laço, nem estragar as unhas. O Salvatore aplica-se facilmente e passei uma camada generosa sobre o verniz Miss Broadway Col. 07 seguido de duas camadas de Seche Vite para suavizar a textura do glitter e adicionar um pouco mais de brilho :) Sob o sol o vermelho fica mais nítido e ainda mais vermelho sangue, super chamativo! Adoro! :)

I used this polish a couple of weeks ago and yes, I've been lazy with my posts... I've been busy with real life and I need to catch up. In the meantime I want the sun to came back! Through pictures there's a bit os similarity between my favorite red glitter Dorothy Shoes from Marcia Lima and EDK Salvatore but they're not dupes. I love them both but Dorothy Shoes is still my favorite red. I took a couple of pictures so you can see them :)

Usei este verniz há duas semanas e sim, tenho estado preguiçosa com o meu blog... mas tal deve-se à vida real que me tem deixado bastante ocupada e sem tempo de me actualizar com o blog. Entretanto, quero que o sol regresse lol. Pelas fotos podem pensar que há semelhanças entre o meu glitter vermelho favorito Dorothy Shoes da Marcia Lima e o EDK Salvatore, mas na verdade não são dupes. Gosto muito de ambos, mas o meu favorito permanece o Dorothy Shoes. Tirei algumas fotos para vos mostrar ambos lado a lado :)

Kinetics Fashion Blue & EDK Morgana

Olá meninas :)

During January and until the end of February, Kinetics is making an awesome promotion where we buy two polishes and get one for free! I couldn't resist haha! I bought a few for myself, and a few to gift :p The first I used is Kinetics Fashion Blue, this color killed me and I had a huge smile when opening the box! lol! A day later I added something else, the pretty Morgana from EDK :)

Durante Janeiro e até ao fim de Fevereiro, a Kinetics está a fazer uma promoção muito boa que inclui comprar dois vernizes e receber o terceiro de borla! Não conseguir restistir! lol. Comprei alguns para mim e outros para oferecer :p O primeiro que usei foi o Kinetics Fashion Blue e a sua cor deslumbrou-me, fiquei com um grande sorriso quando o desembrulhei lol! Um dia depois decidi adicionar algo mais, o lindo Morgana da EDK :)

I already knew that Kinetic polishes have a very good quality and that's why I dived in this promotion without hesitating. Fashion Blue is no exception! Its a gorgeous electric blue color, more darker in the shadow, with perfect nail coverage in two coats. Easy, super easy to apply due to the soft and flat brush. Formula is very good, dries super fast, huge shine (no top coat in pictures) and evens out alone :) I couldn't ask for better, I really love it! *.*

Já sabia que os vernizes da Kinetics possuem uma óptima qualidade e por isso lancei-me nesta promoção sem hesitar. O Kinetics Fashion Blue não é excepção! É uma cor azul eléctrica super bonita, ligeiramente mais escura na sombra, e com excelente cobertura em duas camadas. Fácil, muito fácil de aplicar devido ao pincel suave e plano. A formula é muito boa, seca rápido, tem um brilho devastador (as fotos não têm top coat) e uniformiza-se sozinho :) Não podia pedir por melhor, adoro-o! *.*

Kelly is a blogger and an indie maker; I have already posted a couple of polishes from her but I have many more waiting hehe  :) I bought Morgana because I like the color combo, but also for the name... I can't resist such things! Its a soft but rich glitter polish, with matte pink, white and teal glitters in many different sizes, all in a transparent base. I think its so pretty and girly lol. I love the pink bow too, soooo cute! *.* This is a one coat over Kinetics Fashion Blue plus one coat of Seche Vite.

Caso não saibam, EDK significa Esmaltes da Kelly. A Kelly é uma blogueira e criadora de vernizes artesanais (indie); já postei alguns vernizes dela, mas tenho muitos mais para usar hihi :) Comprei o Morgana porque adorei a combinação de cores, mas também pelo nome... não resisto a estas coisas! O Morgana é um glitter suave mas rico, com glitters matte em cor de rosa, teal e branco com muitos feitios, numa base transparente. Acho-o tão fofo e feminino! Adoro o pormenor do lacinho cor de rosa, super giro!! *.* Nas fotos está uma camada do EDK Morgana sobre o Kinetics Fashion Blue e uma camada do top coat Seche Vite.

Love, love, love this!!! I didn't celebrate Mardi Gras this year but at least I had a pretty gitter in my nails haha! Kleancolor Neon Purple & EDK Damon

Like I mentioned in my last post, last week I received some polishes from Penélope Luz and Kelly. After L'amour I had to get my nails done with Damon (*.*)!  I though on many combinations to use Damon and the winner was Kleacolor Neon Purple which was a Christmas gift by my dear Charlotte (thanks!!) :)

Como mencionei no meu último post, na semana passada recebi alguns vernizes da Penélope Luz e Kelly. Depois do L'amour tinha mesmo que pintar as minhas unhas com o Damon (*.*)! Pensei em várias combinações e a que ganhou foi o Kleancolor Neon Purple, que foi uma prenda de Natal pela minha querida Charlotte (obrigada!!) :)

Let me first show you a couple pictures of Kleancolor Neon Purple. This was the first Kleancolor I used and oh my gosh it's almost perfect (except the brush)! Two easy coats (almost one coater) to cover the nails with a very pigmented formula. The color... well, its a gorgeous NEON purple with silver shimmer (almost unnoticeable in nails), more purple and alive than in the bottle. I fell in love, its a stunning color! Unfortunately its more prettier than my photos. I didn't have any problems with the smell like lots of people do, lucky me :)!

Deixem-me mostrar-vos primeiro duas fotos do Kleancolor Neon Purple. Este foi o primeiro Kleancolor que usei e Oh Meu Deus que é quase perfeito (excepto o pincel)! Duas camadas super fáceis de passar para cobrir as unhas (uma só "gordinha" era suficiente lol) e bem pigmentado. A cor... bem, é uma cor maravilhosa roxa NEON com shimmer prata (quase invisível na unha), mais roxo e vivo que no frasco. Apaixonei-me, é mesmo uma cor sublime! Infelizmente as minhas fotos não lhe fazem justiça. Não tive problemas com o cheiro como muitas pessoas têm, sorte a minha :)!

DAMON Salvatore!!! A polish with his name on it needs to be perfect right? Well, EDK Damon is! EDK stand for Esmaltes Da Kelly which is the blog of the creator, Kelly :) Every time I saw EDK Damon I always thought on Damon's eyes due to the blue glitter, though Damon has grey eyes lol. Personally I still think this and I just love this polish! EDK Damon has divine blue big and small hexs, big, medium and small black hexs, small black bars and random black microglitter. Gorgeoussss

DAMON Salvatore!! Um verniz com o nome dele tem de ser divino não é? Bom, o EDk Damon é! EDK significa Esmaltes Da Kelly, que é o blog da criadora, Kelly :) Todas as vezes que vi o EDK Damon pensei sempre nos olhos do Damon devido ao glitter azul, apesar da verdadeira cor dos olhos dele ser cinzento lol. Pessoalmente, mantenho a mesma conexão e adoro imenso este verniz! O EDK Damon possui hexágonos grandes e pequenos de um azul divino, hexágonos grande, médios e pequenos pretos, pequenos filetes/barras e microglitter preto aleatório. Lindooooooooooo

Please don't judge me, but I wanted to stamp this combo and so I did two days later. Stamped with Essie Nothing Else Metals and the image from GALS GA5 :p I like how the design looks to be floating over the nails he he

Não me julguem, mas eu queria carimbar esta combinação e assim fiz dois dias depois. Carimbei o desenho da plaquinha GALS GA 5 com o verniz Essie Nothing Else Metals :p Gosto de como o desenho parece flutuar sobre as unhas lol 

Huuge post! Overall thoughts... I think I convinced you of my deep love here! Damon is a stunner *.* I ended up loving best the glitter version but I still enjoyed the stamped version too :) Kelly sells her polishes in her websotre (she's on vacation now) and swatches them in her blog. And your opinion is..? Kisses :)

Que post looongo! No geral... penso que vos convenci do meu amor profundo aqui! O Damon é soberbo *.* Acabei por gostar mais da versão glitter, mas disfrutei também da versão carimbada :) A Kelly vende os seus vernizes na sua loja online (embora esteja de férias por agora) e mostra-os no seu blog.
