Endless Summer Challenge: Inspired by One or More Techniques

Hello guys :)

This is it, the last day of the Endless Summer Challenge. I really had a fun month extending Summer in my nails :) The last theme is about taking inspiration from one or more techniques. I decided to try out something I've been dying to do since Simplynailogical created it: scaled gradient! 

E é isto, o último dia do desafio Endless Summer chegou! Diverti-me imenso a prolongar o Verão nas minhas unhas durante Stembro :) O tema de hoje trata-se de inspiração numa ou mais técnicas de nail art. Aproveitei para finalmente fazer algo que queria desde que a Simplynailogical apresentou a técnica scaled gradiente.

Now, this is an easy nail art, but it is time consuming. A video always explays things better than words, so check out Cristine's video tutorial :) As for the colors, I picked vibrant & neon colors to match the Summer vibe of the theme. They are Glam Polish Unforgettable Dream and Finaflor Sou Ciumenta. My camera had a hard time capturing the colors... sorry about the weird skin color O.o

Esta nail art em si é fácil de fazer, mas é demorada. Recomendo que vejam o video tutorial da Cristine porque explica melhor do que eu com palavras ;) Quanto às cores que escolhi, foquei-me na ideia de verão que o desafio transmite e por isso escolhi tons neon e vibrantes. São eles o Glam Polish Unforgettable Dream e Finaflor Sou Ciumenta. Foi difícil captar tanta vibração com a minha câmara.. desculpem-me o tom de pele estranho O.o

Glam Polish Unforgettable Dream is an exclusive from the European Hypnotic Polish store. It is a vibrant pink neon filled with blue shimmer. It dries matte as shown in pictures below and has this lovely texture that reminds of sugar! It's a thing from some shimmer polishes out there that I really like ^^ This is two coats and I found the formula to flow nicely on nails without flooding cuticles. It is a bit thick, but very manageable and dries super fast! You can only get it at Hypnotic Polish (duh exclusive! :p) and they ship internationally :)

O verniz Unforgettable Dream da marca Australiana Glam Polish é um verniz exclusivo da loja Europeia Hypnotic Polish. É um rosa neon vibrante repleto de shimmer azul. O shimmer é tanto que a textura quando seca lembra-me açúcar... gosto tanto! :) A propósito, seca matte e nas fotos abaixo é assim que o vêm. Para cobrir as unhas são necessárias duas camadas. Achei a formula ligeiramente espessa, mas flui muito bem na unha e não escorre para as cutículas. Além disto, também seca rápido. O verniz Glam Polish Unforgettable Dream só pode ser comprado na Hypnotic Polish (duh é exclusivo! :p) e recordo que a loja envia para qualquer parte do Mundo :)

Endless Summer Challenge: Tropical

Hola guapas! :)

And we are getting close to the end of the Endless Summer Challenge where we aim to extend Summer during September. Today's theme is Tropical. What can be more tropical than hibiscus flowers and neon colors? :)

Estamos a chegar ao fim do desafio Endless Summer Challenge, no qual prolongámos o Verão durante Setembro, por intermédio de nail art. O tema de hoje é "tropical". O que é que pode ser mais tropical do que tons neon e flores hibiscus? (muita coisa eheheh!)

This was an easy manicure to do since I already knew what I wanted. I started by painting the black polish and placing two neon pink round studs from Born Pretty Store. Then, I did a Summer gradient with Essie Find Me an Oasis, Essie In The Cab-Ana and China Glaze Escaping Reality. The neon pink China Glaze is what makes this manicure pop! Finally, I stamped in black the hibiscus flowers from Marianne Nails 50 plate :)

Como já sabia o que queria, a manicure foi fácil de fazer. Comecei por pintar as unhas com preto e colocar duas tachas redondas neon rosa da loja BPS. Depois, fiz o gradiente nas unhas do meio com os vernizes Essie Find Me an Oasis, Essie In The Cab-Ana e China Glaze Escaping Reality. Acho que é este rosa neon que dá o maior factor de destaque a esta nail art :) Terminei com o carimbo de flores hibiscus da placa francesa Marianne Nails 50 :)

Endless Summer Challenge: Summer Fruits

Ciao ragazze! :)

And we are already in the middle of the Summer Nail Challenge :) Today is take 5 and the correspondent theme is Summer Fruits. There's several options to choose from like kiwis, pineapples and watermelons for example. Because I saw many babanas nails this Summer and kept postponing my own version, I took this chance to do them :p

Já vamos a meio do desafio Endless Summer, quem diria? :) O tema de hoje são frutos de Verão. Há muito por onde escolher como o ananás, kiwi, melancia, etc. Eu escolhi fazer uma nail art com bananas... porque vi várias este Verão que me deixaram com vontade de fazer a minha versão :p

Don't they look cute? ^^ I love them :p I used only acrylic paints to draw the bananas and (sort of) leafs. For the base I used three coats of Cliché Banco. In the end, I mattified everything with Mollon Pro Top Coat Matte.

Não fica fofinho? ^^ Eu adorei :p Desenhei as bananas e "espécie" de folhas com tintas acrílicas. Para  a base usei três camadas do verniz Cliché Branco e antes de terminar, apliquei uma camada de top coat matte Mollon Pro Top Coat Matte.

This was quite easy to do because your lines don't nee to be perfect. Have you ever did banana nails? Is it something you'd like? :) Kisses,

Endless Summer Challenge: Destination City

Hello guys! :)

Today's post is dedicated to the Endless Summer Challenge which I'm participating during September with several fellow bloggers :) I noticed (shame on me!) that I haven't showed the challenge picture here... I solved this below heheh. Today's theme is Destination City. I want to travel across the world one day... but until then... I want to visit many European cities and one of them is Paris :p

O post de hoje é dedicado ao desafio Endless Summer em que estou a participar durante Setembro, juntamente com várias amigas bloggers :) Reparei (tss tss) que não cheguei a mostrar a imagem do desafio aqui no blog... mas já resolvi abaixo ;) O tema de hoje é "cidade que quero visitar". Quero dar uma volta ao Mundo no futuro... mas até lá, quero também visitar várias capitais Europeias, sendo uma delas Paris :)

Paris... Paris equals glamour, fashion and love in my mind :) This is the concept I based my nail art idea. The lovely pink background is two coats of OPI Mod About You. The holographic glitter in the middle nail is Flormar 392. Then, I did a white polka dot nail art with a dotting tool and white nail polish. I stamped the Eiffel Tower from winstonia W114 plate and the lovely bow from Gals GA33. Finally I placed random sized rhinestones on the ring finger, again helped by a dotting tool. The nail art was finished with a generous coat of top coat.

Paris... Para mim Paris é sinónimo de moda, glamour e amor :) Foi neste mote que me baseei para criar esta nail art. O fundo rosa foi providenciado pelo verniz OPI Mod About You (duas camadas). O glitter holográfico por sua vez é o Flormar 392. Relativamente à nail art em si, com ajuda de um boleador desenhei o padrão polka dots e coloquei aleatoriamente vários rhinestones, com diferentes tamanhos, no dedo anelar. Finalmente, carimbei a imagem da Torre Eiffel da placa winstonia W114 e o laço da placa gals GA33; terminei tudo com uma generosa camada de top coat.

I LOVE it! :D Again... super girly and glamorous (I think :p). What do you think?? Would you wear this in Paris? Kisses,

Endless Summer Challenge: Flowers

Hello loves :)

Today is take three of the Endless Summer Challenge which theme is Flowers. I had lots of ideas for this theme, but in the end I stamped hibiscus flowers over a watercolor nail art base :)

Hoje temos o terceiro dia do desafio Endless Summer, cujo tema são Flores. Tive várias ideias para este desafio e no fim acabei por carimbar sobre uma base feita com a técnica aguarela :)

This was my first time doing watercolor with acrylic paints and man, it wasn't easy! I don't know if the mixed acrylic paints with water were too watery and if so, that was my mistake. The thing is, when I applied the colors they run down my nails and didn't stick to the white base. Anyway, I was able to pull something out hahaha. Next time I won't mix as much with water :p For the lovely tropical flowers, I picked the design from Pueen Encore SE02A plate and stamped using Dashica Black polish.

Foi a primeira vez que fiz a nail art aguarela com tintas acrílicas, mas não foi fácil. Isto porque penso que errei e misturei demasiada água com as tintas acrílicas. Quando pus as cores na base branca, acabaram por escorrer mais da unha do que aderir a esta... Enfim, para a próxima não vou deixar as cores tão aguadas. Mas esquecendo este detalhe, valeu a pena pelo resultado final! :D Selei a nail art watercolor com top coat e depois carimbei o desenho de flores hibiscus da placa Pueen Encore SE02A com o verniz Dashica Black. 

I LOVE the result so much! *-* I was even sad to take it off when it started chipping. I find it to be bright and fun :) What do you think? Any tips on the watercolor technique? Kisses,

Endless Summer Challenge: Nautical

Hello boys & girls! :)

Today we have take two on the Endless Summer Challenge. The theme is Nautical. This is a very nice theme... one can be so creative! I did a mix n' match nail art with some freehand and stamping techniques thrown in for good measure :p

Hoje dedico o dia ao desafio Endless Summer Challenge. Estamos no segundo dia e o tema é náutico. Gostei... dá para ser versátil e criativa :p De modo que fiz uma nail art mix n' match com várias técnicas porque enfim, estava com ideias (para variar lol).

I quite like it! :D Maybe the blue background wasn't the best choice, but I like the greyness of a stormy sea in a paint :) The background is three coats of Impala Doce Oceano with very light brushes of white. Impala Doce Oceano has a soft silver pearly finish, but due to being mattified you can't see it. In my ring finger I draw red (Kiko 239) and blue (Barry M Blackberry) stripes over a regular white polish; then I placed round gold studs. In my middle finger is a stamping decal with cute boats made out of Cheeky Tropical Holiday plate, using the same colors. Finally, I freehanded the anchor and chain in my other two fingers.

Gosto bastante! :D Talvez a escolha do azul de fundo não tenha sido a melhor, mas gosto do ar cinza e algo envelhecido :) Para o fundo azul pintei três camadas do verniz Impala Doce Oceano. Este tem um acabamento prata perolado que pouco ou nada se nota por estar matificado. No dedo indicador desenhei linhas vermelhas e azuis com os vernizes Kiko 239 e Barry M Blackberry, respectivamente. Adicionei também studs dourados. No dedo do meio coloquei um adesivo de carimbo com barcos (fofos!) que fiz a partir da placa Cheeky Tropical Holiday, usando as mesmas cores. Por último, desenhei uma âncora e respectiva corrente nos outros dedos.

What do you think? Perhaps you'd like the shine version better? Honestly, I prefer the matte one because it sort of resembles a painting heheh. Can't wait to see what the other girls created :) Kisses,

Endless Summer Challenge: Summer

Hello gorgeous! :)

Today and during September I will be participating in the Endless Summer Challenge. This is a challenge created by Pedrinails and Fuxia 91. It has been a while since I participated in a challenge (too long) and this one has very nice themes and is time manageable. Further more, I don't mind prolonging Summer... even if it's only on my nails! :p

Durante o mês de Setembro vou participar no desafio Endless Summer. Há muito que não participo num desafio e tenho saudades, de modo que como este tem temas atraentes e é espaçado, fui facilmente convencia :p Além disso, não me importo nada de prolongar o Verão, nem que seja nas minhas unhas. O desafio foi criado pela Pedrinails e Fuxia 91.

So, the first theme is "Summer". I think I mentioned before, but Summer means (among other things) beach to me. So, of course that is what I created :p May I say I think this is my best beach manicure so far?? Yep *-* I started with a background gradient with Dote Braços Torneados (blue), Kinetics KP112 Top of The Wave (water green) and Essie Cocktails & Coconuts (nude). Then, I lightly sponged white in my sea and a glitter in the sand. To finish, I painted the palm tree, birds and anchor with black acrylic paint; then placed a star stud from BPS store and top coatd it with Seche Vite. My camera didn't capture the green ocean, it's more noticeable in real life.

Então, o primeiro tema é "Verão". Penso que já falei anteriormente, mas para mim Verão é equivalente a praia (entre outras coisas claro); de modo que foi o que fiz. Permitam-me dizer que esta é sem dúvida a melhor manicure de praia que alguma vez fiz *-* Adoro! Comecei por criar o gradiente de fundo com os vernizes Dote Braços Torneados (que nome, hein?), Kinetics Top of The Wave e Essie Cocktails & Coconuts. Depois, esponjei ao de leve branco no mar e glitter na praia. Terminei pintando a âncora, palmeira e pássaros com tinta acrílica preta, posicionando um stud em forma de estrela da loja BPS e selei tudo com Seche Vite. A minha câmera não capturou o verde do mar, é mais visível em pessoa.
