Mollon Pro Monophase 43 Annika & BPS BP 51 Stamping Plate Review

Today I have the second monophase gel polish to show you from the Mollon Pro Spring Trends collection :) It is called Annika and yes, of course I matched it with some nail art because well, I can! :p

Hoje tenho o segundo verniz gel da colecção Mollon Pro Monophase Spring Trends para vos mostrar :) Chama-se Annika e sim, é claro que também o vou mostrar combinado com uma nail art porque posso! :p

I am surprised with myself because I reached for this orange shade so soon... our tastes really do evolve in time! hahapplies just like her sister Giorgia; because it is a monophase gel polish, base and top coat are incorporated in the formula, hence you apply the first coat in the nail (previously cleaned and filed), cure for 1.5min and then cure the second coat for 3min in a LED lamp (2min and 4min, respectively for UV lamp). I found this color only needs two coats for full nail coverage. This is a nice Spring orange color which is not too dull nor too bright on the eyes - hard to describe hehe.

Os nossos gostos realmente evoluem ao longo do tempo.. ninguém diria que foi a segunda cor que usei da colecção seria o laranja ;) Apliquei este verniz gel tal como o seu irmão Giorgia: começando por uma camada (sobre unhas limpas e limadas) que foi curada na lâmpada LED por 1.5 min e depois pela segunda camada, curada em 3 min na mesma lâmpada (os tempos de cura na lâmpada UV são 2min e 4min, respectivamente). Duas camadas são o suficiente para atingir opacidade total da unha. Já a cor em si, é difícil de descrever... é Primaveril, um algo entre laranja escuro e laranja claro... bonita!

For this nail art, I premiered BPS BP-51 stamping plate with this cute geometric design. It is my favorite design from BP-51 stamping plate which contains nine designs (I also really like like that feather). I noticed the design didn't stamp perfectly in my nails and there are a few white spots. Its the first "wrong" I see in the BPS BP 46-55 stamping plates set. I started by painting two coats of Revel Nail Honor gel polish and then stamped using Mundo de Uñas Black stamping polish and sealed with Revel Nail Top Coat. Simple, but pretty outcome :)

Estreei a placa de carimbo BP-51 da loja BPS nesta manicure com um desenho geométrico. É por acaso o meu desenho favorito da placa, sendo que a mesma contém cerca de nove desenhos. Podem ver que há algumas falhas na transferência do desenho para as unhas; é realmente o primeiro senão que encontro no set de placas de carimbo BP 46-55. Comecei por aplicar duas camadas do verniz gel Revel Nail Honor e depois carimbei com o verniz de carimbo Mundo de Uñas Black e selei com o Revel Nail Top Coat. Simples mas bonito :)

Purple Professional Sexy Outfit & Looking Hot & BPS BP 52 Stamping Plate Review

Purple Professional recently released their Spring/Summer Beach Superstar collection and I have two nail polishes to show you! :) This collection contains 4 neon nail polishes. I bring you Purple Professional Sexy Outfit and Purple Professional Looking Hot. Both have a very characteristic neon rubber finish that I don't really like, so I applied top coat in all swatches.

A Purple Professional lançou recentemente a sua colecção Primavera/Verão chamada Beach Superstar, que contém 4 vernizes com acabamento e cores neon vibrantes e alegres. Hoje trago-vos dois vernizes que recebi para rever; são eles o Purple Professional Sexy Outfit e o Purple Professional Looking Hot. Ambos os vernizes secam com aquele acabamento emborrachado característico de vernizes neon, mas como não gosto muito dele, apliquei top coat nos swatches.

First we have a very simple, yet elegant manicure with Purple Professional Sexy Outfit. This is a vibrant red orange neon polish. Although it has a neon finish, it isn't a "in your face neon" so I think its quite suitable to use in several different occasions. Sadly, this was very hard to capture and in relaity, there's more orange to the red in these pcitures bah :( The formula was like a dream, very pigmented and easy to apply - almost a one coater! Plus, there was no need to use white underneath to better show the neon effect! :D This is two coats. For the nail art I used gold nail tape and straight nail vinyls.

Começamos então como uma manicure que julgo ser bastante elegante com o Purple Professional Sexy Outfit. É uma cor ali entre o vermelho e laranja, mas mais puxado para o vermelho sem ter aquele efeito "espampanante" de muitos neons por esse mundo fora :p Escusado será dizer que não foi fácil de captar, certo? :( Já a formula essa é soberba! O verniz é bastante pigmentado e certamente que uma camada vai ser suficiente para muitas chicas cobrirem as unhas. Aplica-se também muito facilmente e ao contrário de muitos neons, não é necessário pintar primeiro com verniz branco para destacar o efeito neon :D Apliquei duas camadas e fiz a nail art com fita de unhas e nail vinyls horizontais.

Orange nail polishes are surprising me lately... I'm not much into this color, but alas, i really liked Purple Professional Looking Hot. If it is even possible, I'd say it is a sweet neon orange as in it is very nice to look at  (I know I sound weird lol). Just like Sexy Outfit, Looking Hot has a great formula and I have nothing negative to say about it :D

Não é segredo que não sou muito fã de vernizes laranja.. e muito menos, laranja neon! Mas realmente, esta cor tem-me atiçado a curiosidade e adivinhem lá, adorei o Purple Professional Looking Hot! Eu sei que é neon, mas a cor tem algo de muito fofinho que suaviza o efeito neon (soa muito estranho? lol). Tal como o irmão Sexy Outfit, a fórmula é simplesmente exemplar! Não tenho nem um aspecto negativo a mencionar.

I decided I would do a stamping manicure over Purple Professional Looking Hot because why not? :p. So, I did a background gradient with a regular white polish and stamped in white with Mundo de Uñas White stamping polish. The stamping plate I used is Born Pretty Store BP-52. I continue to be in love with the BPS stamping plates because they stamp really well and this was another proof! :D

Decidi fazer uma manicure com carimbos sobre o Purple Professional Looking Hot pelo motivo de que sim, eu posso! :p Fiz então um gradiente com um verniz branco e carimbei com o verniz de carimbo Mundo de Uñas White. Todos os desenhos pertencem à placa BP-52 da loja Born Pretty Store. Se necessitávamos de mais provas de que as placas BP carimbam mesmo bem, esta é mais uma! :D

I am so lucky to have such amazing friends in Brazil :D Both indie nail polishes as well as stamping plate used in today's manicure arrived in Portugal recently and I went to get them with Marta. I was so happy I started opening everything at the cafe with her and her lovely son haha! :) He was the one who choose the first nail polish to be debuted... and even as a little 8 year old boy, it proves that boys are really drawn to red ^^

Sei que tenho imensa sorte por ter boas amigas tão distantes como no Brasil :D Ambos os vernizes artesanais, bem como a placa de carimbo usada na manicure de hoje, chegaram a Portugal recentemente, sendo que fui buscá-los com a Marta. Estava tão entusiasmada e feliz que abri tudo no café onde estávamos hahaha! Pedi ao filho da Marta para escolher o primeiro verniz a ser estreado e adivinhem lá, ele escolheu um vermelho! Até pequenos rapazes de 8 anos são atraídos pela cor hehe ;)

His choice was PL Venice, a gorgeous two coat red orange textured polish. I wanted the entire PL Sand collection from the moment it was released and I do believe it was the launch of the year 2014 in Brazil! <3 But I of course could not stop myself from using a by Dany Vianna polish, particularly one that I was also dying to get. White Christmas is composed of beautiful soft white glitters that look like flakes but are not. One single coat carries a lot of glitters which is great! It was released in Christmas 2013 and thanks to the Portuguese postal service, it was sent back to Brazil 3 months after arriving here... I'm very pleased to have that package with me now :)

A colecção Sand da PL foi para mim o lançamento do ano 2014 no Brasil. Se eu queria (e quero) todos?? Sim, sem dúvida! O verniz PL Venice não desiludiu de modo algum; duas camadas fáceis de aplicar que secaram com acabamento matte arenoso e shimmer dourado. O tom pode ser descrito como vermelho alaranjado ou laranja avermelhado, sintam-se à vontade para escolher hehe. Mas, não consegui não usar o verniz by Dany Vianna White Christmas - um verniz que esperei um ano para ter *.* É composto por glitters brancos que são tão delicados que parece flocos; super elegante! Apliquei uma camada sobre branco e o pincel vem bem carregado de glitter, o que é óptimo.

On the middle nails I stamped the red rose pattern from BBF-23 plate with Mash Sunset Orange polish. I love the way this particular design only covers the sides of the nail. Plus, the plate is full os rose designs and I'm a sucker for that! ^^ What do you think of the manicure? Kisses,

piCture pOlish Totes & Yes Love Neon Glitter G1-5 & Negative Space Triangle

I did this nail art in the last days of Summer, while it was still hot and sunny. How things change in a month! Don't get be wrong, because I love Fall very much :) I remember I wanted to try my hand at negative space again, but specifically with triangles... and so it went.

Fiz esta nail art nos últimos dias do verão... quando ainda estava aquele calor gostoso e sol imenso. Engraçado como num mês tudo mudou! Mas não me entendam mal porque adoro o Outono! :) Lembro-me que na altura queria voltar a experimentar a técnica "espaço negativo", mais especificamente com triângulos.

I started by painting my nails with two coats of piCture pOlish Totes. I'm not fond of oranges, but this one is special and gorgeous! :) In the ring finger I applied three coats of Yes Love Neon Glitter G1-5. This is a multi colored glitter in a nude creamy base. It takes three/four coats to obtain full nail coverage, plus top coat to smooth the glitters. You can pretty much tell that the colors in this nail art where inspired by the glitter, right? :p In the middle finger I then applied piCture pOlish Chillax and using a brush and some acetone, I did the triangle and finished by painting the sides of it.

Comecei por pintar as unhas com o verniz piCture pOlish Totes, recém-chegado à colecção! :) Não gosto particularmente de laranjas, mas este tem um tom especial. No anelar coloquei o verniz Yes Love Neon Glitter G1-5, que tem uma base nude preenchida com glitters de varias cores. Foram precisas três camadas (a última mais generosa) para cobrir a unha e uma de top coat para alisar a textura dos glitters. Dá para perceber que a inspiração de cores veio dos glitters né? :p Mas continuando, no dedo do meio pintei o verniz piCture pOlish Chillax; com um pincel chanfrado e acetona, fui removendo o verniz para criar o triângulo e depois pinteis as suas extremidades.

To this day I still wonder if I should have done a simple triangle... the colors make the manicure look sort of like childish... what do you think? Kisses,

DRK Themes - SF Nail Stamping Plate Review

How are you? :) Today I have a review about one of the recently released XL plates by DRK Nails. I'm referring to DRK Themes - SF, a plate inspired in St. Francis of Assisi, protector of animals. I believe most of you are already aware, but anyhow DRK Nails is now registered in USA and hence you can get your plates internationally faster and cheaper (before they were only available in Brazil or through Ninja Polish). This is great :D

Como estão? :) Hoje trago-vos a minha review de uma das placas de carimbo XL recentemente lançadas pela DRK Nails - a placa DRK Themes - SF. Esta placa foi inspirada em S. Francisco de Assis, protector do animais. Acredito que muitos de vós já estejam a par, mas de qualquer forma quero informar-vos que a DRK Nails já se encontra registada nos USA e com website lá. Isto significa que a marca envia internacionalmente e recebem as vossas compras mais rápido e também mais barato :D (antigamente só estava disponível no Brasil e a nível internacional pela Ninja Polish, que entretanto fechou).

Personally, I' wasn't very much into this plate because of the bigger St. Francis designs. Again, this is my personal opinion. BUT I most definetely am into the small patterns since the first moment I saw the plate *-* DRK Themes - SF is a huge XL plate with 14.5cm per 21cm dimensions. Several designs are very detailed and can fit very tiny nails as well as large ones. DRK Nails is one of the first ever nail stamping plates indie makers and their quality never ever disapointed me. Actually, I recommend this brand to new stamping begginers because the patterns are engraved in such a way that allow you some time to stamp without the pressure of the design drying to fast. I have the other DRK XL plates and what I noticed in this one is that it is more difficult to clean; I'm not sure if it's because designs are deeper or due to the detailed patterns.

Pessoalmente, não era muito fã desta placa devido aos desenhos maiores de S. Francisco de Assis. Sublinho que é uma opinião pessoal. Mas, fiquei LOUCA pelos desenhos e padrões individuais assim que analisei a placa com detalhe *-*. A DRK Themes - SF é uma placa XL com as dimensões 14,5cm de largura por 21cm de altura. Muitos dos desenhos são muito detalhados e cabem tanto em unhas pequeninas como unhas maiores :) Tenho as outras placas XL das marcas e tenho a dizer que esta não desaponta em nada! A única diferença que vejo é que é mais difícil de limpar que as outras; se é por conter desenhos mais detalhados ou por estar gravada mais profundamente, não sei dizer. Mas o que sei é que as placas DRK (uma das primeiras marcas indie a vender placas) nunca me desapontaram de modo algum. Aliás, é uma das marcas que recomendo a quem quer começar a carimbar porque a profundidade dos desenhos permite carimbar mais lentamente, sem receio de que o desenho seque entretanto (tal não sucede com a maior parte das marcas no mercado). 

So far I have played with this plate three times and have more ideas planned for the future. The first manicure I did was a soft pink & nude one as soon as it started raining around here :p The base polish is Barry M Lychee stamped with Mundo de Uñas Pastel Pink 25. For some reason my camera didn't cooperate with me, but I tried my best with these pictures.

Até agora já brinquei três vezes com esta placa e tenho mais ideias em mente. A primeira manicure fiz quando começou a chover por aqui... daí ser algo fofinha :p (uma pessoa ambiciona conforto quando o tempo está assim, não é? xD). O verniz nude é o Barry M Lychee, carimbado com o verniz Mundo de Uñas Pastel Pink 25.

Next, I wanted to test one of the new DRK Nails stamping polishes, namely DRK Nails Metallic Brown and do a gold & brown combination. It is quite pigmented and yes, it stamps over black (I need to update this post with a picture soon). The bottle contains 0.33oz / 9.8ml of product. The base is Golden Rose Rich Color 55; I don't like the pearly finish it has, hence I mattified it before stamping. Much better :) Por algum motivo que me ultrapassa não consegui fotografar bem esta nail art, mas fiz o meu melhor com as fotos.

De seguida quis testar um dos novos vernizes de carimbo da marca, nomeadamente o DRK Nails Metallic Brown (9.8ml). Fiz uma combinação dourada & castanha, mas posso dizer-vos que sim, ele é pigmentado e carimba bem sobre preto! (em breve adiciono aqui uma foto sobre preto) :) O verniz base é o Golden Rose Rich Color 55 com acabamento perolado; não gostei nada, por isso adicionei top coat matte antes de carimbar e ficou beeem mais ao meu gosto :p

Finally we have a bolder manicure with a saran wrap base. The colors I used here were piCture pOlish Totes, Cliché Branco and M&M 074. I love it with the butterflies *.*

Finalmente, uma manicure mais "arrojada". Fiz a base com a técnica saran wrap usando os vernizes piCture pOlish Totes, Cliché Branco e M&M 074. Adoro as borboletas *.*

I hope you managed to see how great the designs on this plate transfer and notice the small great patterns. I'm focusing on this because several people told me they don't like the plate... and my answer was; did you check out the detailed patterns?? :p I love it! Penélope Luz Dracarys & Fire and Dragon Nail Art

Yes, you read it right! Dracarys from Game of Thrones was the inspiration for this polish by the indie brand maker Penélope Luz :) I planned to use it in the last Games of Thrones episode from this latest season... but it didn't happen so here we are :p This weeks ANS challenge theme is my favorite hobby... altough nail art is my absolute favorite one, watching series is also another I very much enjoy :D So PL Dracarys suits the theme very well :p

Sim, leram bem! A personagem Dracarys de Game of Thrones foi a inspiração para o nome deste verniz da Penélope Luz :p Queria tê-lo no último episódio da última season, mas saiu-me o tiro pela culatra hehe. Decidi usar o PL Dracarys porque adequa-se ao desafio desta semana do grupo ANS; o tema é o "meu passatempo favorito". Claro que este é nail art, mas ver séries é dos meus passatempos preferidos também :p

PL Dracarys polish overall reminds me of fire, hence the nail art :p It has multi sized orange glitters and a fine golden one in a translucid base. It can be layered over another polish for best results. I chose OPI My Vampire is Buff. The brush comes with a lot of glitter therefore two coats is enough to give the result you see in pictures :) I advise you to use top coat to smooth all the glitters. For the nail art, I used the saran wrap technique for the blazing fire in the middle nail and then stamped the dragon from Messy Mansion 05 plate on top; on the ring nail I stamped the fire design from DRK-B plate and then colored using the leadlight technique. It doesn't look as good as the middle finger fire, but it is difficult to get the same opaque finish when using jelly polishes.

No geral, o verniz PL Dracarys lembra-me fogo e sem esquecer a alusão à Dracarys, nasceu esta nail art :) É constituido por glitter fininho dourado e laranja com vários tamanhos. Como tem uma base translúcida, fica melhor quando aplicado sobre outro verniz. Escolhi o OPI My Vampire is Buff. Vem bastante gltter no pincel, de modo que duas camadas foi o que precisei para o resultado das fotos :) Relativamente à nail art, no dedo do meio usei a técnica lembrando fogo e carimbei o dragão da placa Messy Mansion 05; no dedo anelar carimbei a fogueira da placa DRK-B e preenchi o desenho com a técnica leadlight. Claro que a fogueira não ficou tão boa quanto o fogo, mas isso é porque usei cores jelly

Personally, I think my manicure looked awesome! :D But somehow my boyfriend thought these were Dragon Ball nails... gosh! lool! How do you feel about the final look? Kisses,

Ruby Wing Rodeo Review & Tribal Gradient Nail Art

Happy Saturday :) Ruby Wing brand wasn't availabale in Portugal until last year through GL Nails. Luckily I as able to get my eyes on them Expocosmetics 2014 this year and came home with two babies :) The special thing about this brand is that their polishes change colors hen exposed to the sun light :D The first one here on the blog is Ruby Wing Rodeo.

Bom fim de semanaaaa :) Conhecem a marca americana Ruby Wing? É uma marca caracterizada pelos seus vernizes que mudam de cor com o sol que até o ano passado não estava disponível em Portugal. Agora está por meio da GL Nails :) Tive oportunidade de ver os vernizes da marca ao vivo na Expocosmética 2014, sendo que dois vieram comigo para casa :) Este que vos mostro hoje é o Ruby Wings Rodeo.

Ruby Wing Rodeo belongs to the Wicked West collection and its particularity is to change from green indoors/shadow to orange in the sun light. This is not a thermo changing polish. It is so nice to see the colors shifting in the sun! I couldn't stop playing hahaha. About application, I found the formula to be a bit on the thick side yet manageable and very pigmented. It isn't as self leveling as I wished so I even it out with top coat. The color change is quite fast but the resulting orange isn't very well distributed in the nail, leaving some green spots visible. 

O verniz Ruby Wing Rodeo pertence à colecção Wicked West e a sua singularidade é que muda de verde para laranja quando exposto a luz solar; portanto, dentro de casa e na sombra é verde e no sol é laranja :) Não tem nada a ver com um verniz térmico que muda de cor consoante a temperatura. Só vos digo que adorei brincar entre a sombra e o sol hahahaha. Relativamente à formula do Rodeo, esta é muito pigmentada mas espessa, se bem que manuseável. A formula não se nivela, de modo que mancha e por isso apliquei top coat para nivelar tudo. A mudança de cor verde para laranja é bastante rápida, mas o laranja não é uniforme em toda a unha, de modo que alguns pontos verdes são visíveis. 

I couldn't resist doing a nail art with Rodeo... in fact, I did twice hahah. This one is a ethnic stamping design over a gradient. For the gradient I used Kiko 336 and Orly Saturated besides Rodeo. The white ethnic pattern belongs to Bettina B-02 plate.

Não resisti a brincar e fazer uma nail art com o verniz Rodeo... aliás, já fiz duas :p Esta consiste num padrão étnico carimbado sobre um gradiente. No gradiente usei os vernizes Kiko 336 e Orly Saturated além do Ruby Wing Rodeo, claro. O padrão étnico branco foi carimbado e pertence à placa Bettina B-02.
