Summer Mermaid Nails

This Summer I did two mermaid nails manicures and I wanted to show them in a single post.

First we have my vacations nails from August ;) You see ILNP Interstellar, such a gorgeous duochrome blue with holographic glitter <3 In the finger I stamped the mermaid pattern with Bundle Moster BM XL209 plate.

The following mermaid nails have a gradient underneath made with FUN Lacquer Midnight Nocturne and Glitter Gal Lizard Belly. On top I stamped with DRK Magic Garden stamping plate in gold.

Mollon Pro Extrême 30 Aubergine Review & Jewel Nail Art

Hola chicas! :)

Today I bring you my review of Mollon Pro 30 Aubergine from the Extrême Fall collection. This is a 3-step collection with gel polish finish without using a LED/UV lamp and durability of two weeks. 1st step is to apply Mollon Pro Extrême Base, 2nd step to apply the Extrême color and 3rd step is to finish with Mollon Pro Extrême top coat.

Hoje trago-vos a minha review do verniz Mollon Pro 30 Aubergine da colecção de Outono da linha Extrême. Esta linha tem a durabilidade de 14 dias e acabamento de verniz gel sem usar lâmpada LED/UV; aplica-se em três passos : 1) aplicar a base Mollon Pro Extrême; 2) aplicar a cor Extrême e 3) aplicar o finalizante Mollon Pro Extrême top coat.

First of all, I'm very excited to see a shimmer polish in the Extrême collection! Up until now I only saw cream polishes (which are great!). And now... what a beautiful color!! *-* It fills my eyes! I'm talking about a deep aubergine color with purple shimmer. It was easy to apply and dries fast like the other polishes of this line, but is less pigmented and need either three coats for full coverage or two coats over black. 

Antes de mais, que bom que é ver um verniz com acabamento shimmer na linha Extrême da Mollon! Até agora só me tinha deparado com vernizes cremosos (que são excelentes!). Este verniz tem aquela cor beringela misteriosa (que gosto muito) e shimmer roxo. Foi tão fácil de aplicar quanto os irmãos da colecção, mas é menos pigmentado; aplica-se em três camadas sozinho ou com duas camadas sobre verniz preto.

With such a deep aubergine color, I wanted gold!! I picked the golden cviar beads from Mollon Pro and applied one by one around a rhinestone to form a gem pattern near the cuticles. I topped everything with Mollon Pro Extrême top coat et voilá! <3

Este tom de beringela combina tão bem com dourado, não acham? Eu penso que sim e por isso decidi fazer uma nail art de jóias. Usei e apliquei individualmente as pérolas caviar douradas da Mollon Pro à volta de rhinestones da loja BPS. Finalizei com o top coat Mollon Pro Extrême et voilá! *-*

Golden Rose 17 & Breast Cancer Awareness Nail Art

As you know, October is the Breast Cancer Awareness month. I believe each one of us can do something to help spread the awareness and also support the women fighting their survival by contributing and giving them hope! Also, you need to make sure you do your annual exams because prevention is the key! As in the last years, I wanted to create a manicure to help spread awareness on social networks and to everywhere I went.

Como sabem, o mês de Outubro é dedicado à consciencialização do cancro da mama. Acredito que cada um de nós pode contribuir para a consciencialização e suportar todas as mulheres que estão a lutar contra esta doença e dar-lhes um pouco de esperança. Aproveito para vos recordar que têm de fazer os vossos exames anuais, o segredo está na prevenção do cancro da mama. Este ano, como nos anos anteriores, fiz uma manicure alusiva no sentido de consciencializar as pessoas por quem me cruzo, tanto nas redes pessoais como fisicamente.

For this manicure, I recycled yesterday's nail art because I looove the black & gold combination too much to remove it ^^ So, I applied two coats of the lovely pink Golden Rose WOW 17; these little bottles of 6ml are surprising me a lot! They're quite cheap and well pigmented :D In the middle finger I stamped the design from UC 3-01 plate. In the ring finger I placed rhinestones and silver beads to create the breast cancer awareness ribbon :)

Reciclei a manicure de ontem porque andava perdida de amores pela combinação de glitter dourado e preto ^^ Nas unhas do meio pintei duas camadas do verniz Golden Rose WOW 17. Estou surpreendida pela positiva com estes pequenos frascos de 6ml; têm boa aplicação, pigmentação e brilho! :) No dedo do meio carimbei a frase da placa UC 3-01; no dedo anelar, desenhei o laço de apoio contra o cancro da mama com pérolas prata e strass rosa.

New Year's Eve Nail Art Ideas

With the New Year's Eve glamorous night quickly approaching us, I decided to do and share two different nail art ideas with you :) Remember that whichever the dress/outfit you decide to use, you can always change the color and finish of the polish - the sky is the limit in terms of creativity! ;) 

A noite de fim de ano está tão pertinho de nós que decidi sugerir-vos duas manicures diferentes para adornar as nossas unhas nessa noite tão especial e glamourosa :) Tenham em atenção que podem alterar qualquer acabamento e/ou cor do verniz que continuam com nail arts maravilhosas. O céu é o limite da criatividade! ;)

Both manicures feature glitter because I think it is *essential* in a night such as this! In truth, you can wear a simple sparkly glitter and be done with it because it will look fab hehe. Firt we have a stamping manicure with Yes Love G3-6. This is a black jelly filled with small silver microglitter and large coloreful pieces. The formula is sheer so you need a black underneath. If I made this polish I'd add more colorfull glitters, but its nice to use it like this too ;) This Yes Love sort of reminds me of the night sky, so I stamped the stars image from Winstonia Merry X'mas plate with Yes Love G5-1 and finished with some rhinestones. 

Para mim, a noite de fim de ano tem que ter *obrigatoriamente* um glitter envolvido, de modo que ambas as manicures têm verniz glitter :p. A primeira sugestão passa por usar um glitter preto mais discreto e carimbado. O verniz escolhido foi o Yes Love G3-6 que é um verniz jelly preto com glitter prata e glitter maior de várias cores (se o verniz fosse criado por mim invertia as proporções hehe). Lembra-me tanto um céu estrelado que carimbei estrelas da placa Winstonia Merry X'mas com o verniz Yes Love G5-1 e coloquei strass no centro de algumas.

It's impossible to hid yourself wearing the following nail art haha! Bling, bling, bling!! *-* Go big or go home! ;) Again, I'm using a black because it is an elegant and neutral base which you can combine with anything ;) The gorgeous holographic glitter under all the rhinestones and studs is Purple Professional 76 Diamond recently welcomed in the collection. I am completely mesmerized by it, just like all the other Precious Stones collection <3 <3 I had no specific idea when choosing and placing the rhinestones, so just go with your gut ;)

Se o objectivo é passar despercebida ou ser discreta, tal não vai acontecer com a próxima nail art! É precisamente o oposto *-*! Usei novamente um fundo preto porque é realmente um tom neutro e elegante que pode ser combinado com qualquer coisa. O verniz debaixo de todos os strass é o Purple Professional 76 Diamond. Basicamente é um verniz composto somente por glitter holográfico - lindo de viver!! *-* Aliás, posso finalmente dizer que tenho a colecção Precious Stones da Purple Professional completa <3. Não tinha nenhuma ideia específica quando escolhi e posicionei os strass e pedrinhas nas unhas, de modo que sugiro que sigam os vossos instintos ;)

Revel Nail Honor Gel Polish Review & Snowflakes Foil Nail Art

Hi gorgeous! :)

I think I'm hooked to the stamping foil technique... the outcome is stunning! That being said, you can imagine today's post content ;) I realised that this technique works far more better with gel polishes than regular ones. I tried both ways in my two hands, and the one with gel polish is the best! So, it's not only about having a stamping polish that doesn't dry too fast (so that the foil can adhere to it), but also having the less porous base possible. At last, this was my conclusion.

Estou completamente encantada com a técnica de carimbar com foil, acho que fica simplesmente brutal! De modo que temos esta nail art no post de hoje :p Apercebi-me que a técnica resulta muito melhor sobre vernizes gel do que vernizes normais. Experimentei verniz gel numa mão e verniz normal noutra, sendo que cheguei à conclusão que superfície pouco porosa é o melhor  - neste caso, "ganhou" o verniz gel. Além disto, o verniz de carimbo não pode secar muito rápido de modo a que o foil lhe adira. 

 
For my base, I picked Revel Nail Honor. This is a white pigmented creme gel polish - lovely! I'm really happy with the easy application and how it turns out. There's something magical about wearing simple white polishes... I followed the application procedure suggested by the brand and just like the previous creme polishes I tried, this one had no issue in terms of cuticle flooding or shrinking :) I'm afraid I'll use my 15ml bottle to th last drop! haha

Escolhi o verniz gel Revel Nail Honor como base. É um verniz branco cremoso - adorável! Aliás, há qualquer coisa de mágico em usar verniz branco *-* Fiquei muito satisfeita com a aplicação e cobertura deste verniz gel, o que já era de esperar ;) Segui o método de aplicação recomendado pela marca e não verifiquei qualquer encolhimento do verniz gel, nem este escorreu para as cutículas. Parece-me que este vou usar este branco até à última gota! hehehe

As I indicated above, you need to find a stamping polish that will work well with your foil. I tried all my golds and Barry M Gold Foil Effects was the only one that worked (Barry M, I love youuuu!). It also has been mentioned in FB groups that Konad and Bissú stamping polishes work as well :) So, for this nail art I chose a gold foil from Luxos Baratuxos and the snowflake pattern from Bundle Monster BM-323 plate. I stamped a nail at a time and applied the foil right after placing the design in my nail. To match the Christmas feeling, I did a Christmas wreath in my ring finger out of several studs & rhinestones.

Como dei a entender acima, é preciso encontrar um verniz de carimbo que funcione bem com o foil. Experimentei todos os dourados que tenho e só o Barry M Gold Foil Effects funcionou (amo-te Barry M!!). Mas segundo vários grupos no FB, os vernizes de carimbo da Konad e Bissú também funcionam. Nesta nail art usei um foil dourado que adquiri com na Luxos Baratuxos e padrão de flocos de neve da placa Bundle Monster BM-323. Para fazer a técnica de carimbar com foil é preciso fazer uma unha de cada vez e assim que o desenho for transferido para unha - aplicar de imediato o foil e pressionar por uns segundos. Se tudo correr bem, o foil adere ao desenho de imediato :) Já a entrar no espírito natalício, decidi fazer uma grinalda de Natal usando diversos strass e studs no anelar :)

Dermacelsia 87 & BPS Rhinestones Wheel Review

How about some crazy bling bling to start the week feeling amazing?? haha! Whether the beginning or end of the week, I guarantee you today's nail art is not fot the faint of heart! ;)

Hoje tenho uma nail art assim maluca para vos mostrar. Prontas para se sentirem as rainhas da festa? haha! A verdade é que seja de dia ou de noite, ninguém vai ficar indiferente a esta nail art! ;)

But first, a few words on the gorgeous blue base! <3 This is Dermacelsia 87, one of the five colors of the Fall 2014 collection. Unfortunately this Portuguese brand doesn't have names, only numbers. I applied two easy coats of Dermacelsia 87. I found the formula to leave bald spots in the first coat if you're not carefull. But, it does dry fast and applies quite nicely :) The brush is smooth and round, for some reason it didn't help in in the cuticle line. I love the cream blue, dark shade... fantastic for Fall!

Mas antes, algumas palavras sobre esta rica base! <3 O verniz azul escuro - cremoso e misterioso - é o Dermacelsia 87, pertencente à colecção de Outono 2014. Este é o único verniz azul da colecção composta por 5 cores. Infelizmente esta marca Portuguesa não tem nome nos seus vernizes. A sua formula é fácil de aplicar e seca rápido. Mas verifiquei que mancha na primeira camada, o que é ultrapassável se aplicar-mos camadas mais generosas. O pincel possui cerdas macias e é redondo, mas por algum motivo não me facilitou o contorno da cutícula (não experimentei isto nos últimos vernizes que usei da marca). No geral, soi doida por este tom de azul, então agora com o tempo sombrio e frio *-*

I suppose I went crazy with the rhinestones nail art, but I loved it! *-* I started by applying an OPI loose silver glitter and then I placed two types of rhinestones. I received this silver multichrome rhinestones nail wheel which comes with 4 different sized pieces (240 total) from Born Pretty Store. They have a flat base to fit our nails. The two rhinestones near the cutciles belong to another BPS nail wheel, but this one with larger green multichrome sizes. I am *amazed* whenever they capture the light, simply gorgeous *-*!

Muito possivelmente fiquei maluca e fui longe de mais com esta nail art, mas amei! *-* Comecei por aplicar um glitter solto prata da OPI na lateral das unhas; depois coloquei cada strass individualmente. Os dois strass mais perto das cutículas são verdes e os dois perto da ponta da unha são prata; ambos são multichromes e emitem diversas cores quando bate a luz *-*. Os strass prata são os que escolhi para rever da loja Born Pretty Store (os outros comprei) e vêm numa caixa com 240 peças e 4 tipos de tamanho diferentes.Todos têm uma base achatada para se moldar à nossa unha.

Sensationail Pink Chiffon Gel Polish Review & Breast Cancer Awareness Nail Art

Earlier this week I posted the first part review of the Sensationail Starter Kit. The Starter Kit gel polish color that I chose was Sensationail Pink Chiffon. Like I mentioned, I want to redeem myself of not yet doing a breast cancer awareness manicure. Therefore, the one you will see today will last for two weeks! :)

No início desta semana publiquei a primeira parte da minha review do Kit de Iniciação de verniz gel Sensationail. A cor do kit que escolhi é o Pink Chiffon e como mencionei anteriormente, fiz com ele uma nail art de consciencialização do cancro da mama como forma de me redimir pelo facto de ainda não ter feito nada (estou a usar esta nail art por duas semanas!) :)

Lets talk about Sensationail Pink Chiffon gel polish, which I applied just like proposed by the brand. At first, I found the brush to be very small but soon changed my opinion. Its round and soft, allowing a controlled application near the cuticles (particularly in pinky). I like it, although I prefer flat brushes. Formula wise, Pink Chiffon is a sheer milky pink; I experienced no pooling or shrinkage. In the index & middle fingers I applied four thin coats of Pink Chiffon; in the ring finger & pinky three coats. Clearly four coats is the best for full nail coverage since you can see some bald spots on pinky & ring finger. However, this didn't trouble me because I knew I was going to do some nail art afterwards. I finished with a coat of Sensationail Base & Top Coat and noticed the beautiful shine it provided! So far it is lasting, but that's a subject for another post! ;) I'm moving to a knew place at the end of this month (yey!) and because of that, I applied a coat of acrygel underneath Pink Chiffon; this is the reason why the gel polish looks thick! In my right hand I didn't apply acrygel therefore I can see it isn't thick at all! :)

Vamos conversar sobre o Sensationail Pink Chiffon :) Apliquei-o seguindo os passos recomendados pela marca, indicados no primeiro post. O pincel é pequeno e redondo e por isso pensei que não ia gostar... mas rapidamente mudei de ideias porque permite controlar bem a aplicação do verniz gel junto das cutículas. Tenho preferência por pincéis achatados, mas gostei deste. A nível de formula, esta é pouco pigmentada e tem aquele acabamento rosa cremoso leitoso. Não verifiquei encolhimento nem escorrimento para as cutículas do verniz gel Pink Chiffon, mas a verdade é que tudo isto é evitável se aplicarem camadas fininhas. Apliquei três camadas nos dedos mindinho e anelar, e quatro camadas nos dedos indicador e meio. É claramente notório que quatro camadas é o ideal para cobrir uniformemente a unha pois pode-se verificar pontos "carecas" nas duas unhas com três camadas. Mas isto não me incomodou porque sabia que ia posteriormente fazer uma nail art. Pelas fotos parece que o Sensationail Pink Chiffon fica espesso nas unhas, mas não se deixem enganar! A verdade é que como vou mudar de casa até ao fim do mês, não quis correr riscos e apliquei uma camada de acrygel nesta mão para proteger as unhas; já a mão direita tem só o verniz Pink Chiffon :p

About the breast cancer awareness manicure, I just knew I wanted to incorporate a bow in it somehow! I have these huge recently bought bows... but I was too scared I'd loose one whilst moving card boxes around hehe :p So, rhinestones bow it is! I picked two different sized silver rhinestones plus small silver beads and placed them carefully over a teeny drop of gel top coat. I love the outcome! Then, of course I had to use the breast cancer design from Bundle Monster BM321 plate! :) Stamped in white with Dashica White polish. Finally, I draw some silver hearts and then used acrylic foil on top of it. This was my first foil experience and I can't wait to play more with it! :D (used Catherine foil and foil glue). I finished everything with a coat of Sensationail Gel Base & Top Coat.

Sabia que ia de alguma forma incorporar um laço na manicure de consciencialização do cancro da mama. Comprei recentemente uns laços enormes super giros... mas fiquei com medo de perder algum enquanto movesse caixas de um lado e outro, por isso decidi criá-lo com rhinestones! :p Seleccionei dois tamanhos de strass prata e esferas de nail art prata (qual o nome disto em português gente?). Coloquei cada peça uma a uma, sobre uma gota pequena de top coat gel e depois curei na lâmpada LED para selar as peças no seu lugar. No dedo do meio carimbei o símbolo do cancro da mama da placa Bundle Monster BM321, que não podia deixar de usar! Já no dedo indicador, realizei a experiência de brincar com foil pela primeira vez. Desenhei vários corações prata e depois apliquei o foil prata da Catherine, utilizando a cola para foil também da Catherine. Adorei, mal posso esperar para brincar mais com isto! :p Finalmente terminei tudo com uma camada do Sensationail Base & Top Coat :)

Revel Nail Fawn & BPS Colorful Mini Round Rhinestones Review

Today I have what I like to think is an edgy & elegant manicure to show you :) As you know, I get to pick what I review from Born Pretty Store. They have quite a lot of new items and I just fell in love with these Colorful Mini Round Studs as soon as I saw them! Why? Check them out!

Hoje tenho o que considero uma manicure elegante para vos mostrar! ;) Como sabem, tenho liberdade para seleccionar os produtos da loja online Born Pretty Store que quero rever; desta feita, eles estavam com produtos novos e um dos que mais me despertou a atenção foram estes Mini Studs coloridos redondos! Porquê? Ora vejam!

They're duochromes, shifting from green to pink! Awesome :D! I swear sometimes I see gold too, but I'm not sure if its because of the color combination. I adore the colors and think they're so great for Fall! :) The BPS store names them as studs, but I think they're rhinestones. Either way, they come in a small package with 100 little sparkly pieces. I only used one in each nail to keep the simplicity of the look... or I'd go crazy with them eheh. For this nail art, I started with three coats of Revel Nail Fawn gel polish (for sure one of my favorite shades of the Fall collection!); then I freehanded the white line using a striping brush and Revel Nail Honor gel polish. Before curing Honor, I placed the rhinestones with a dotting tool. Finished everything with two coats of Revel Nail Top Coat.

São duochromes! *-* A cor varia entre verde e rosa e às vezes vejo um dourado (que talvez possa surgir da combinação das cores anteriores). Não tenho nada assim ehehe e ainda por cima gosto muito das cores porque lembram-me o Outono ^^. A loja BPS designa-os de studs/tachas, mas para mim são mais rhinestones/strass. Vêm num pequeno plástico com 100 peças (não contei cof cof). Basicamente só usei uma peça em cada unha para seguir a ideia que tinha, senão ia usá-los em todo o lado lol. Para esta nail art comecei por aplicar três camadas do verniz gel Revel Nail Fawn (uma das minhas cores favoritas da colecção de Outono). Depois usei um pincel longo e fino para desenhar a linha branca com o verniz gel branco Revel Nail Honor, mas não curei na lâmpada LED de imediato; primeiro coloquei cada strass com ajuda de um boleador e então sim curei o verniz gel. In retrospective, perhaps I should have cured the white gel polish for a couple of seconds so as to get a better grab of the mini round rhinestone... they kept sliding out of place lol. How do you do it? Any tips?
