Ruby Wing Shipwrecked, Behind the Bleachers & Pretty in Pink Color Changing Polishes Review

Hello guys! :)

Today I bring you a review of three Ruby Wing solar color changing polishes. They belong to the Solor Active collection. I received these three polishes to give my opinion from GL Nails - a gel polish brand and Portuguese store :) I am mesmerized! Each one has a color indoors and in the shadow that changes when the sun hits. It's a pleasure to play and see the color change I must admit ^^.

Hoje trago-vos a minha review de três vernizes que mudam de cor com o sol da Ruby Wing que pertencem à colecção XX. Recebei os três vernizes da marca e loja portuguesa GL Nails :) Estou super encantada haha! É maravilhoso ver a transição de cor de cada verniz da sombra para o sol... chega ao ponto de ser até quase uma criancice a brincadeira, mas não há como resistir :p 

The first one I have to show is Ruby Wing Shipwrecked. It has a very nice pigmentation and covers nails in two coats. It has a caramel/brownish nude color in the shadow/indoors that turns darker in the sun. You can clearly set apart the two colors and the change occurs in less than 5 seconds - amazing and so amusing haha! :p I stamped a geometric flowery pattern from Fab Ur Nails FUN 13 plate with Mundo de Uñas 57 Taupe. I like how this can pass as a delicate nail art due to the nude stamping polish and goes well with both Ruby Wing Shipwrecked colors :)

O primeiro verniz que tenho para vos mostrar é o Ruby Wing Shipwrecked que tem uma boa pigmentação e cobre as unhas em duas camadas. Na sombra a cor que domina é um caramelo acastanhado; mas no sol a cor é um castanho mais escuro :p A transição de cor da sombra para o sol é rápida, menos de cinco segundos na verdade (não admira que não pare de brincar!). Quanto à nail art, seleccionei um padrão geométrico florido da placa de carimbo FUN 13 e carimbei com o verniz Mundo de Uñas 57 Taupe, cujo tom nude fica bem com ambos as cores do verniz Ruby Wing Shipwrecked. Adorei :)

Next we have Ruby Wing Behind The Bleachers which is the sort of a light green in the shadow and fuller & darker forest green in the sun. I liked both colors and i wasn't expecting that since I'm not that much of a green lover :p. In terms of pigmentation, it took me two coats to cover nails with a very decent shine. These polishes are really good! :) For the nail art, I stamped a swirl image from FUN 20 stamping plate with two green stamping polishes : MdU 39 Avocado and 56 Spring Green and also placed a golden stud. It's a simple nail art I know, but that is the beauty of stamping.

De seguida temos o verniz Ruby Wing Behind the Bleachers que tem um tom verde floresta claro à sombra e verde floresta mais escuro ao sol. Surpreendemente, gostei das duas cores :) Apliquei duas camadas para cobertura total da unhas e o brilho depois de seco é bastante bom; estes vernizes são óptimos! :) Quanto à nail art , carimbei um desenho da placa FUN 20 com dois vernizes de carimbo verdes: MdU 39 Avocado e Mdu 56 Spring Green; depois coloquei um stud dourado no centro de cada desenho, apliquei top coat et voilá!

Last, but not least, we have Ruby Wing Pretty in Pink. I'm sad I wasn't able to fully capture the pink color in the shadow... it's a bright yet robust pink color that goes reddish in the sun. There's also some neon undertones to both colors and that's the reason why my camera didn't cooperate. Ruby Wing xx also applies in two coats. I was inspired to do this cameo nail art from ladyandthe_stamp :) I stamped in black the damask pattern from FUN WON; then i did a stamping decal with the cameo girl image from MoYou Pro XL 07 plate and placed it in the ring finger and finished off by applying matte top coat in everything. Ooohh I liked this very much! :D

Por fim, mas não menos importante, temos o Ruby Wing Pretty in Pink que é um rosa vibrante e robusto à sombra e avermelhado ao sol; tem umas nuances neon  e é por isso que não conseguir captar bem a cor bah. Tal como os restantes irmãos em termos de pigmentação, apliquei duas camadas para obter cobertura total da unha. Quanto à nail art, fui inspirada por uma manicure que a ladyandthe_stamp fez recentemente :) Carimbei o padrão damasco da placa FUN WON com o verniz de carimbo MdU Black e fiz um adesivo de carimbo com o camafeu da placa MoYou Pro XL 07. Gostei muito! :)

Ruby Wing Rodeo Review & Tribal Gradient Nail Art

Happy Saturday :) Ruby Wing brand wasn't availabale in Portugal until last year through GL Nails. Luckily I as able to get my eyes on them Expocosmetics 2014 this year and came home with two babies :) The special thing about this brand is that their polishes change colors hen exposed to the sun light :D The first one here on the blog is Ruby Wing Rodeo.

Bom fim de semanaaaa :) Conhecem a marca americana Ruby Wing? É uma marca caracterizada pelos seus vernizes que mudam de cor com o sol que até o ano passado não estava disponível em Portugal. Agora está por meio da GL Nails :) Tive oportunidade de ver os vernizes da marca ao vivo na Expocosmética 2014, sendo que dois vieram comigo para casa :) Este que vos mostro hoje é o Ruby Wings Rodeo.

Ruby Wing Rodeo belongs to the Wicked West collection and its particularity is to change from green indoors/shadow to orange in the sun light. This is not a thermo changing polish. It is so nice to see the colors shifting in the sun! I couldn't stop playing hahaha. About application, I found the formula to be a bit on the thick side yet manageable and very pigmented. It isn't as self leveling as I wished so I even it out with top coat. The color change is quite fast but the resulting orange isn't very well distributed in the nail, leaving some green spots visible. 

O verniz Ruby Wing Rodeo pertence à colecção Wicked West e a sua singularidade é que muda de verde para laranja quando exposto a luz solar; portanto, dentro de casa e na sombra é verde e no sol é laranja :) Não tem nada a ver com um verniz térmico que muda de cor consoante a temperatura. Só vos digo que adorei brincar entre a sombra e o sol hahahaha. Relativamente à formula do Rodeo, esta é muito pigmentada mas espessa, se bem que manuseável. A formula não se nivela, de modo que mancha e por isso apliquei top coat para nivelar tudo. A mudança de cor verde para laranja é bastante rápida, mas o laranja não é uniforme em toda a unha, de modo que alguns pontos verdes são visíveis. 

I couldn't resist doing a nail art with Rodeo... in fact, I did twice hahah. This one is a ethnic stamping design over a gradient. For the gradient I used Kiko 336 and Orly Saturated besides Rodeo. The white ethnic pattern belongs to Bettina B-02 plate.

Não resisti a brincar e fazer uma nail art com o verniz Rodeo... aliás, já fiz duas :p Esta consiste num padrão étnico carimbado sobre um gradiente. No gradiente usei os vernizes Kiko 336 e Orly Saturated além do Ruby Wing Rodeo, claro. O padrão étnico branco foi carimbado e pertence à placa Bettina B-02.

Cult Nails Evolution & Cupcakes Gradient Nail Art

Hello gorgeous! :)

Cupcakes anyone? Wherever you are, it's always time for cupcakes! lol I have peach and lime ones for you today hahaha. This is a nail art I did last week, my idea was to have something fresh and sweet in my nails at the same time ;)

Alguém quer cupcakes? Tenho de lima e de pêssego para distribuir hoje xD Sejamos sinceros... qualquer hora é boa para comer cupcakes, certo?? :p Fiz esta nail art na semana passada e o objectivo era ter algo fresco e doce ao mesmo tempo nas unhas :)

The fresh part comes from the background gradient. I did it with a white polish, the green Ruby Wing Rodeo and the Peach Cult Nails Evolution. My boyfriend pointed out my nails draw too much attention but I didn't care, it was on my nails not him hahaha! Cult Nails Evolution is the last polish from the New Day collection I had to wear. It is a sheer pretty peach polish that dries relatively fast. It is opaque in three coats. I'd say the formula of Evolution lies between the awesome Cult Nails Falling Hard and the difficult Cult Nails New Day (both from the same collection).

A parte fresca vem do gradiente de fundo. Usei um verniz branco (penso que da Cliché), o verde Ruby Wing Rodeo e o pêssego Cult Nails Evolution. Aqui o Homem da casa achou que chamei demasiada atenção com estas unhas... mas eu não quis saber, eram as minhas unhas e não a pessoa dele xD. O verniz Cult Nails Evolution é o último que tinha para usar da colecção New Day (e já agora da marca lol). Diria que formula deste verniz situa-se algo entre a espectacular do Cult Nails Falling Hard e a difícil de usar do Cult Nails New Day (vernizes da mesma colecção). O Evolution cobre as unhas com três camadas e a formula é algo aguada, mas fácil de usar e seca relativamente rápido.

Now the sweet part comes from the cupcakes design from DRK-B plate :) You can honestly stamp anything you like over this... the base is super versatile in my opinion :) I loved it so much!! Hope you did too ^^ Kisses and see you tomorrow :)

A parte doce desta nail art vem do desenho de cupcakes da placa DRK-B :) Sinceramente, podem carimbar o que vos apetecer sobre esta base porque é bastante versátil (por ex frutas, pranchas, flores, etc). Eu pessoalmente amei o resultado! :D Espero que vocês também, beijinhos :) Ahh uma nota final, para quem não sabe, a Cult Nails é uma marca indie americana.. aliás, é uma classe superior ao indie porque não são fabricados artesanalmente mas mantêm algumas das características da classe indie.
