GL Nails Merli Gel Polish Review

GL Nails recently released the Hollywood gel polish collection. This is a regular type of soak off collection composed of five gel polish colors with a very Fall vibe to them. Instead of showing them all in a single post like I did the previous collection, I'm going to feature them individually and today we start with GL Nails Merli.

A GL Nails lançou recentemente uma nova colecção de gel verniz chamada Hollywood composta por cinco cores. É uma colecção de verniz gel do tipo soak off com uma vibe Outonal. Decidi mostrar cada cor individualmente em vez de fazer uma publicação com as cinco (como na colecção anterior). Vamos começar pelo verniz gel GL Nails Merli.

As a regular soak off polish, it needs a base and a top coat. I used GL Nails NutriOne and GL Nails One, respectively. GL Nails Merli had a beautiful, deep red color. This is the most pigmented polish of the collection in my opinion. I applied two lovely coats and cured each one for one minute in LED lamp (2 min for UV lamp). Now that I'm combining both base and top coat from the same brand, I really notice the difference from my previous swatches in terms of shine and durability. Hence, I super recommend this combination :)

Tratando-de de um gel verniz soak off, tem de ser combinado com base e top coat. Neste caso, usei os da marca - GL Nails NutriOne e GL Nails One, respectivamente. Este verniz gel GL Nails Merli tem um tom vermelho profundo, mesmo bonito! É um dos mais pigmentados da colecção, sendo que cobre as unhas com duas camadas. Cada camada foi curada durante 1 min na lâmpada LED (ou 2min na lâmpada UV). É muito fácil de aplicar e o brilho, ohhh... lindo! Noto realmente diferença entre usar a base e top coat da marca tanto em termos de durabilidade, como de brilho :)

Merli is one of my favorite polishes of the collection, so I didn't have it in me to "hide" it with nail art but still wanted... something else. In the ring finger I stamped the lacey design from Vivid Lacquer VL 028 with MdU Black stamping polishes and sealed with two coats of GL Nails One top coat. On the middle finger I attached a cute bow I got at In Beauty 15; it was sealed with the same top coat, but more tiny coats under the bow so as not to be visible and make my nail huge hehe. I know you're wondering if it doesn't come off while touching your hair and such... it doesn't, it's secure.

O verniz gel Merli é um dos meus favoritos da colecção, de modo que não queria propriamente escondê-lo sob nail art. No anelar carimbei a imagem de renda da placa Vivid Lacquer VL 028 com o verniz de carimbo MdU Black; selei com duas camadas do top coat GL Nails One. No dedo médio coloquei um laço que adquiri na In Beauty 15. Selei primeiro com uma camada em toda a unha do top coat da GL Nails, sendo que depois selei só o laço com pinceladas debaixo no mesmo para não fazer ficar "com a unha gordinha". O laço ficou bem seguro e não caiu, mesmo depois de lavar loiça, mexer no cabelo etc.

Earth Day 2015 Nail Art

Happy Earth Day! Like last year, I did a nail art to celebrate the 22nd of April. I know I can and should be doing much, much more to protect our planet that I love. Anyway, here's a little something to help spread the awareness.

Feliz dia da Terra! :) Tal como no ano passado, este ano não quis deixar o dia 22 de Abril passar em branco. Sei que estou longe de poder fazer tudo aquilo que devia para proteger o planeta, mas vou continuar e um passo de cada vez. De qualquer forma, eis algo para ajudar a espalhar a consciencialização.

I started by painting three coats of the gorgeous piCture pOlish Swagger. Then I stamped the Continents design from Uber Chic UB 2-03 with Mundo de Uñas Spring Green and Avocado. Finally, I did a quick stamping decal with the Earth image from Vivid Lacquer VL017 and applied it over black to create the look of "earth seen from space". 

Comecei por pintar as unhas com o verniz piCture pOlish Swagger (azul lindo!). Depois carimbei os Continentes da placa Uber Chic UB 2-03 com os vernizes de carimbo Mundo de Uñas Spring Green e Avocado. Fiz também um adesivo de carimbo com a imagem do Planeta Terra da placa Vivid Lacquer VL017 e coloquei sobre fundo preto para dar aquela ideia da Terra vista do espaço :p

Revel Nail Rebel Review & Lace Nail Art

Today I bring you a great black gel polish review and a sexy nail art (or at least that's how I felt when using it :p). The star of this post is Revel Nail Rebel.

Hoje trago-vos um excelente verniz gel preto e uma nail art sexy (ou pelo menos foi assim que me senti quando a usei heheh :p). A estrela do post é o verniz gel Revel Nail Rebel.

Why a great black gel polish? Because this is a two coater! I have read in many places how hard it is to find a pigmented black gel polish and I have to say I'm happy the only one I own hehe. Like the previous Revel Nail gel polishes I reviewed, Rebel has a great formula! Easy to apply and presents a good fluidity on the nail. There was no pooling or cuticle flooding. I applied it with Revel Nail Base and Top Coat following the brand application time procedure :)

Porquê um excelente verniz gel preto? Ora, porque cobre as unhas com duas camadas! Sorte a minha que sendo o único que tenho, é tão bom hehe. Isto porque já li por várias vezes como é dificícil encontrar verniz gel preto pigmentado. A formula é óptima e similar aos que já postei anteriormente; é fluida, fácil de aplicar e não escorre para as cutículas. Apliquei o Rebel segundo os tempos recomendados pela marca e utilizando o Revel Nail Base e Revel Nail Top Coat.

About the nail art... I was in a black & white mood, plus I got Vivid Lacquer VL-028 plate a while ago and was dying to use it :) I picked the rose pattern (the very reason why I bought this plate) and randomly stamped it over Rebel using Dashica White Polish. Then, I sealed everything with a coat of Revel Nail Top Coat. For a pop of color, I placed pink nail tape in my ring finger in a sort of negative space nail art. It wasn't my original idea (I wanted a black bow), but you gotta work with what you got! ;)

Relativamente à nail art, esta surgiu da minha vontade de finalmente usar a placa Vivid Lacquer VL 028 (acho que comprei no Verão...). Escolhi o desenho das rosas (favorito) e carimbei-o aleatoriamente nas unhas com o verniz Dashica White. De seguida selei o desenho com uma camada do Revel Nail Top Coat. No dedo anelar coloquei uma fita cor de rosa para dar um toque de cor, se bem que a minha ideia era colocar um laço preto; mas só podemos trabalhar com o que temos! ;)

Purple Professional 22 Red Roses & Lace Design

Today I have a quick manicure that I used last week to show you :) It's a classic red one... because even I sometimes miss red. To give it an up and still mantian the classic red look, I just did a quick lace design stamping on my ring finger and placed some rhinestones.

Hoje tenho uma manicure rápida para partilhar convosco que usei na semana passada :) É uma manicure clássica vermelha... até porque eu por vezes sinto falta desta cor. Mas, para ficar mais ao meu gosto, adicionei uma nail art de renda e alguns rhinestones.

This red is Purple Professional Red Roses, one of the polishes I recently purchased from the brand. It has the consistency of a jelly polish given but the glossy shine and visible white line. I applied two coats. Like I said, it's a classic red and you can't go wrong with it. However, I have a complaint. Unlike all my other Purple Professional, this one starts chipping on the second day (and not only in me)! Hence, duration is awful unfortunately. And yes, I used it with the same base/top coat products as always. Regarding the nail art, it i more noticeable in person since the camera captures the light reflex on the metallic silver stamping. The beautiful rose (*-*) design belongs to Vivid Lacquer VL 028 plate stamped with Barry M Silver Foil and then mattified with OPI Matte Top Coat. Finally, I placed three different sized silver rhinestones on the middle finger :)

O verniz vermelho é o Purple Professional 22 Red Roses, um dos vernizes que comprei recentemente da marca. Tem acabamento jelly, visível não só pelo brilho glossy como a sua formula que não escorrendo para a cutícula, deixa visível a ponta branca da unha. Apliquei duas camadas para cobertura total. Como referi, é um vermelho clássico. Infelizmente, tem um aspecto negativo relativo à sua duração. Reparei que no segundo dia começa a descascar (e não só em mim)! Usei os mesmos produtos de sempre e nunca tive este problema com a Purple Professional (que adoro pela qualidade!). Relativamente à nail art, no anelar carimbei uma imagem de renda com rosas da placa Vivid Lacquer VL 028 (linda *-*). Usei o verniz Barry M Silver Foil e depois matifiquei tudo com o verniz OPI Matte Top Coat; no entanto, a minha câmera captura o reflexo do prata de modo que não dá para ver toda a elegância do desenho. Terminei colocando rhinestones de diferentes tamanhos no dedo do meio :)

I enjoyed this manicure very much for the simplicity yet with some edginess :) What about you? Have you tried this specific Purple Professional 22 Red Roses?
