Durability Test / Teste de Durabilidade
Lets start with durability. Revel Nail brand offers 100% Satisfaction and Money Back Guarantee. This being said, I was super curious to see how long they would last on my nails, when applied correctly (read my previous review for details). Therefore, I performed a two-week durability test. Below is the picture of Revel Nail Fawn (I can't get enough of it!) in day one:

Claro que fiquei super curiosa em ver como o verniz gel ia durar e em que condições. Fiz o teste de durabilidade durante 14 dias. Na foto abaixo temos o verniz gel Revel Nail Fawn (não me canso desta cor!) no primeiro dia:
Now, we have the same polish in day 14. What are my conclusions? Well, lets start with shine... amazing throughout the entire test! It always looked like I just finished my manicure. About the durability, I noticed that Revel Nail Fawn remained in perfect conditions until the 9th day. Then, it started chipping in the sides of my middle finger. In my right most beated hand it also started chipping by the same time. However, it didn't lift until I removed it in day 14! I had a break in my thumb and the gel polish also chipped there (as I expected). This was a major test for me... I struggled with the growing line and this enormous desire to paint my nails! hehehe
Agora e abaixo, temos o mesmo verniz após 14 dias. A que conclusões cheguei? Bem, vou começar por referir o brilho... soberbo! Ficou tal e qual como no primeiro dia durante as duas semanas de teste! Parecia que tinha acabado de fazer a manicure... não fosse a linha de crescimento a dizer-me o contrário hehe. Já relativamente à durabilidade, verifiquei que o Fawn começou a lascar no 9º dia nas laterais da minha unha do meio. Na mão direita (a mais sofrida digamos assim), lascou também no indicador. Mas o verniz gel não levantou até que o removi. No polegar da mão esquerda tinha a unha a quebrar.. por isso já esperava que lascasse aí. Isto foi o que se pode dizer um "desafio e pêras" para mim! 14 dias sem pintar as unhas e com aquela linha de crescimento testaram-me em grande! hehehe
Revel Nail is a soak off gel system, therefore it is removed by the traditional soak off removing system. Regardless, below is the steps that one must do:
- Lightly buff the surface of the nail using a white block (to allow remover to reach color layer);
- Soak a cotton swab with acrylic remover or acetone acrylic remover (I used acetone);
- Place cotton on nail and wrap with foil; The gel polish should be broken down and ready to remove after 7min;
- Add more acetone to swab is needed in case the gel polish isn't broken down;
- Use and orangewood stick to gently slide the product form the nail.
- Note: If you use a primer, soak off time will be longer!
I performed the steps mentioned. After 7 min, I realised that my gel polish needed a bit more time soaking off. Three more minutes (that is 10 in total) I removed it with no difficulty. The Revel Nail gel polish really breaks down and falls out of the nail bed. If any piece stays, just use an orangewood stick to gently push it down. I saw that no damage was done to my nails! :) Because I used acetone, I have no idea how a specific remover will increase removing time.
A marca Revel Nail é um sistema soak off, de modo que a sua remoção procede-se como muitas outras marcas soak off. De qualquer forma, eis os passos a seguir para uma correcta remoção:
- Limar gentilmente a superfície da unha com um bloco branco (permite que o removedor atinja cada camada de cor);
- Embeber um pedaço de algodão com removedor acrílico ou removedor acrílico com acetona (usei acetona normal);
- Colocar o algodão embebido na unha e enrolá-la com uma tira de papel de alumínio; No fim de 7 min o verniz gel deverá estar partido aos pedaços;
- Adicionar mais acetona e papel de alumínio se o verniz gel não estiver quebrado e não deslizar suavemente da unha;
- Utilizar gentilmente um pau de laranjeira para remover algum pedaço de verniz gel mais teimoso;
- Nota: Se usarem Primer, o tempo de remoção será superior!
Realizei os passos mencionados acima. Após 7 min, verifiquei que o verniz não estava a descolar facilmente, nem estava todo partido aos pedacinhos; então aumentei o tempo de actuação da acetona em mais três minutos. Portanto, findo este tempo (10 min) verifiquei que agora sim, o verniz sai da unha sem esforço nenhum e sem a danificar. Usei o pau de laranjeira para tirar alguns pedaços aleatórios e mais nada :) Como disse, usei acetona... por isso não sei como um removedor adequado irá melhorar a remoção do verniz gel Revel Nail.
Overall, I'm very pleased with the brand! I'm very curious about duration and removal using a primer, therefore when I do my next durability test I'll incorporate Revel Nail in a couple of fingers and later update this post. I expect the primer to extend the wear time with no chipping during 14 days. So, have you requested the Revel Nail free sample? What are your thoughts and experience with the brand? No geral estou satisfeita com a marca! Mas estou também super curiosa para ver como é que o Primer vai melhorar a durabilidade do verniz gel e como será o seu tempo de remoção. Assim sendo, no próximo teste de durabilidade que fizer, vou incorporar um verniz gel Revel Nail nalgumas unhas e posteriormente actualizar aqui o post. Contem-me, já pediram a vossa amostra grátis?
