Catrice First Class Up-Grape

Hey guys! :)

And so it seems that today I bring you another Cosnova polish, but this time from Catrice :p I had to get Catrice First Class Up-Grape after I saw it in Mary's nails.

Hoje trago-vos mais um verniz da Cosnova, mas desta feita da Catrice :p É um que tinha mesmo de ter depois de vê-lo nas unhas da Mary. 

Catrice First Class Up-Grape (awesome name!!) has a purple/grape color with a beautiful shimmer and some red undertones. I think the shimmer is what distinguishes it because it kinda looks like the polish is 'lightened from 'within' as Nihidra put it. I have to notice that I had an awful brush, wonky and with mismatched bristles. Other then that, there's nothing to say because the formula was great. In the middle fingers i painted three coats of Kiko 216 Rosa Pastello Satin. Then I stamped them using the flowery image from Lesly LS-13 plate with the same Catrice polish (it looks great over clear colors, but doesn't stamp over dark ones).

Adoro o nome do Catrice First Class Up-Grape! Ás vezes a marca tem uns nomes no mínimo estranhos, mas este é engraçado. Trata-se de um verniz com tom de uva, subtons vermelhos e um shimmer lindíssimo. É como a Nihidra o descreveu - "shimmer que parece vir do interior do verniz". No entanto, apesar de tudo ser óptimo em termos de formula, o meu pincel era miserável! Veio com cerdas de tamanhos diferentes que não ajudarem em na aplicação! Enfim... o que vale é que o gajo é lindo! Nos dedos do meio apliquei três camadas do verniz Kiko 216 Rosa Pastello Satin, sendo que de seguida carimbei as flores da placa Lesly LS-13 com o mesmo verniz Catrice (este não carimba sobre cores escuras).

Sunday Stamping Challenge: Plate Ending in 0

Hey gorgeous! :)

Today's AIS challenge theme is stamping with a plate ending in 0. Easy peasy! ;) I would like to name this manicure "winter roses" or " Winterfell winter roses" haha.

O tema de hoje do desafio AIS é carimbar com uma placa que termine em 0. Não podia ser mais fácil! :) Vou designar esta manicure de "rosas invernais" ou "rosas invernais de Winterfell" hehe.

I suppose there are several winter roses out there, but for me it means a blue frost rose. That is why I used several shades of blue to color my roses with the leadlight stamping technique. But first, I started by painting my nails white and then with OPI Pirouette My Whistle (to achieve the frosty winter look). This image in particular belongs to Marianne Nails 50 plate and was stamped with Dashica Black polish.

Presumo que existam vários tipos de rosas de Inverno, mas a imagem que me vem à cabeça é de rosas azuis com geada. Por isso usei a técnica de carimbo leadlight com diversos azuis. Mas comecei antes por pintar as unhas de branco e de seguida com o verniz OPI Pirouette My Whistle (na tentativa de conseguir o efeito da geada/neve). O desenho das rosas em particular pertence à placa Marianne Nails 50 e foi carimbado com o verniz Dashica Black.

Essence Kiss Me Freddy

Hola guapas! :)

I'm sure you have noticed that I haven't used Essence polishes in a while. The truth is that they didn't release nothing too appealing in the regular line (most of the LE don't come to Portugal). But there's an exception which is Essence Kiss Me Freddy! 

Certamente que já repararam que não tenho usado vernizes da Essence nos últimos tempos. A verdade é que a marca não lançou nada de extraordinário na linha regular (isto porque as edições limitadas com acabamentos e cores espectaculares não chegam a Portugal!). Mas há uma excepção, o verniz Essence Kiss Me Freddy!

I find this polish to be different from everything I own in terms of color and finish. Lets say that it has a green mint shade, although that is too general to describe Kiss Me Freddy lol. I also think that this polish has a pearl silver finish plus silver microglitter. The overall result is a strong shine. What I'm sure about is the application haha, two easy coats et voilá! ;) For the nail art, I painted a general black in the middle nail and mattified it. In the ring finger I applied white polish and then stamped the optical illusion pattern from Pueen Encore SE 01A plate.

Este verniz é diferente de tudo o que tenho, tanto em termos de cor como de acabamento. O tom do Essence Kiss Me Freddy é verde, talvez verde menta... mas esta descrição acaba por ser geral de mais hehe. Já o acabamento, julgo que é perolado prata e contém também microglitter prata, que fica evidente depois do verniz secar. Ao aplicar top coat a textura é eliminada. O que tenho a certeza é mesmo a aplicação, duas camadas simples :p O brilho esse, é de cegar uma pessoa! Para a nail art pintei o dedo médio de preto e matifiquei-o; já o dedo anelar pintei de branco e carimbei a imagem de ilusão de óptica da placa Pueen Encore SE 01A.

Layla CE53 & Negative Space Stamping Nail Art

I'm sorry for my absence on the last week, I needed a litle break ;) I went through 9 books in 8 days... I'm that crazy sometimes! lol However, I also managed to paint my nails (of course!) and did the last AIS stamping challenge. The last Sunday theme was negative stamping. I have done a couple of negative space stamping manicures in the past months so I was pleased with this theme. 

Peço desculpa pela minha ausência nos últimos dias; precisava de uma pequena pausa ;) E porque eu às vezes sou maluca, li 9 livros nos últimos 8 dias.. hehe. Contudo, óbvio que pintei as unhas e inclusive fiz o desafio do grupo AIS de Domingo passado. O tema foi negative space stamping, ou seja, carimbo negativo. Fiz algumas manicures nos últimos meses com este tema, de modo que estava bastante confortável :p

For this manicure, I picked a lovely red polish with flakies - Layla CE 53, which I received in my birthday two years ago from dear Dulce :) I have used it before, but never posted it. So - how did I achieve this result? First, I stamped the flowery image from Sugar Bubbles SB016 plate with Dashica Black polish and top coated it with Seche Vite. When the top coat was dry, I placed mini straight nail vinyls. Then applied Kinetics KP234 Red Gown followed by Layla CE53, removing the vinyls a nail at a time. Finally because flakies look best matte in my opinion, I finished with a coat of OPI Matte Top Coat :)

Escolhi um verniz vermelho jelly repleto de flocos para esta manicure chamado Layla CE 53. Este foi um presente de aniversário da querida Dulce *-* Já o usei antes, mas não cheguei a publicar em detalhe :p. Mas, como é que fiz a manicure de hoje? Então, primeiro comecei por carimbar o desenho florido da placa Sugar Bubbles SB016 com o verniz Dashica Black e apliquei top coat Seche Vite. Quando o último secou, posicionei mini nail vinyls horizontais em cada unha. De seguida apliquei o verniz Kinetics KP234 Red Gown e Layla CE53, removendo os nails vinyls unha a unha. Por fim apliquei top coat matte :)

I won't deny I loved the bright red version, but the muticolored flakies aren't that noticeable. I also like this version :) What about you? Kisses and have a great Sunday! :)

Não vou negar que a versão glossy é apelativa, o problema é que os flocos multicoloridos não se destacam muito. Mas gosto bastante desta versão também. E vocês? Em Portugal encontram os vernizes Layla Italianos em vários locais, como por ex. na Carlos Santos e Pluricosmética. Beijinhos :)

New Year's Eve 2014 Nail Art & Cirque XX

Happy 2015!!! :D I hope that you can achieve the goals you set for yourself in 2015! That is I wish for myself as well :) The first manicure to appear in this blog in 2015 is my New Year's Eve manicure, though late - hope you don't mind.

Feliz 2015 chicas guapas!! :D Espero que alcancem todos os objectivos e metas a que se propõem em 2015! É exactamente o que desejo para mim :) O primeiro post do ano aqui no blog é dedicado à manicure que usei na passagem de ano; já vem algo tarde, mas espero que me perdoem :p

I was going for a gold & black combo actually, but running though my Alex, I noticed that I never published Cirque XX and it is so gorgeous I had to use it again! Cirque XX is a mix of more than 20 different holographic glitters in a clear base. Crazy! It can be applied over any color, but I think it looks best over black. I love how the glitter shine on bright lights as well as their complexity in low light <3 It really is a glamorous polish! I paired Cirque XX with Flormar 392 by applying three coats in my ring finger and one sponged coat below Cirque XX to give more dimension. Then, I freehanded 2015 numbers with acrylic paint using a winstonia brush and finally stamped black fireworks from MoYou Christmas 05 plate.

Inicialmente o que queria era uma manicure dourada e preta, mas entretanto andei a vasculhar as gavetas do Alex e deparei-me com o verniz Cirque XX! Tenho-o há mais de um ano, usei uma vez e não cheguei a publicar. É tão bonito e glamouroso que decidi usar novamente :)  O Cirque XX é um verniz artesanal com mais de 20 tipos de glitter holográfico de acordo com a marca - loucura! A base é transparente, de modo que pose ser aplicado sobre qualquer verniz. Adoro-o porque brilha horrores sob luz forte e é complexo e misterioso sob luz mais fraca. No dedo anelar apliquei três camadas do verniz Flormar 392, sendo que também esponjei um pouco debaixo do Cirque XX para dar mais dimensão a este último. Por fim, desenhei os números 2015 com tinta acrílica (pincel da winstonia) e carimbei um fogos de artifício da placa MoYou Christmas 05.

Ugh, I really LOVE these glitter gradient manicures *-* And no one can say that Cirque XX isn't a special indie polish, right? <3 Again, hope you have a wonderful 2015 and let see what a new year brings around here ;) Kisses,
