Essie Mint Candy Apple

Did you have a nice weekend? I hope so! :) The manicure I'm publishing today was done before Valentine's Day. I promise it is the last one under this theme for a while :p I complimented by Dany Vianna Moondust with Essie Mint Candy Apple. The last one was a birthday present from by boyfriend, which makes it even more special :)

Tiveram um fim de semana bom e relaxado? Espero que sim :) Fiz a nail art que estou a publicar hoje na semana antes do dia de S. Valentim. Prometo que esta é a última com o tema hehe. Complementei o verniz by Dany Vianna Moondust com o Essie Mint Candy Apple. Este último é muito especial porque foi um presente de aniversário do meu Homem :).

Mint Candy Apple is quite a famous polish. Who doesn't own it by now? ;) I have an old bottle which has Essie written in white in the side of the nail polish bottle. The brush that comes along is... huge! I don't really like it and thank God Essie changed it! Anyways, the polish itself has a nice consistency that surprised me, as well as lovely shine and drying time. Remember I said I used by Dany Vianna Moondust twice the same week? Well, this was the 2nd time :p I applied two coats over Yes Love G5-1 and I also love it like this! <3

O verniz Essie Mint Candy Apple é deveras famoso! Quem é que não tem/conhece este tom verde menta? Felizmente já o posso chamar de meu! :) O meu frasco contudo é de uma gama antiga, aquela que tem a marca Essie escrita a branco de lado no frasco. O pincel desta gama é... medonho! É muito grande e largo para meu gosto, ainda bem que a Essie mudou o dito cujo entretanto! A formula essa surpreendeu-me pela positiva uma vez que é fácil de aplicar, nivela-se bem, seca rápido e com um brilho interessante. Recordam-se que disse anteriormente que usei o verniz by Dany Vianna duas vezes na mesma semana?? Pois, esta foi a segunda :p Desta vez combinei-o com um fundo prata, nomeadamente com o verniz Yes Love G5-1. Adorei!! 

For the nail art, I picked a rose/star/diamond pattern from BBF-23 stamping plate. I did a quick nail decal and stamped with Barry M Silver Foil. I think it turned out super cute *-*, specially due to the addition of a freehanded heart on the ring finger :) What do you think, would you wear this nail art? Kisses,

Escolhi um padrão com rosas/diamantes/estrelas da placa de carimbo BBF-23 para complementar os vernizes. Carimbei com o verniz Barry M Silver Foil e fiz um adesivo de carimbo com o padrão. Acho que ficou super fofinho, especialmente quando desenhei o pequeno coração no anelar <3. Que acham? Usariam esta manicure? Beijinhos,

Yay for Friday!! :D Today's manicure is one I did a while ago when I received BPS plates as well as by Dany Vianna polishes :) I was unsure to publish it or not... but here we go!

Finalmente Sexta-feira!! :D Fiz a nail art que vos mostrou hoje há já algum tempo, mais precisamente quando recebi as placas da loja BPS e os vernizes by Dany Vianna :) Estive indecisa se postava ou não... mas aqui vai!

I started by dabbing Golden Rose Rich Color 55 near the tips, leaving some space between the color and cuticles. Then I sponge Voodoo by piCture pOlish. I had already tried to do a gradient using piCture pOlish Voodoo, but it has this wine red undertone that ruins it. However, I didn't give up and went away with it :p Voodoo is a perfect name for this mysterious brown polish with red shimmer. The bottle shows a lovely golden shimmer, but I didn't see that on my nails. Then I applied a generous coat of by Dany Vianna Leprechaun Gold from the Halloween collection. I'm sad it isn't noticeable in my nails in pictures, but I can assure you it is in real life. Leprechaun Gold has a lot of delicate golden flakes in a transparent base that I found to suit very well the brown/nude base :)

Comecei por esponjar o verniz Golden Rose Rich Color 55 junto às pontas, deixando espaço entre o verniz e as cutículas. Depois esponjei o verniz piCture pOlish Voodoo por cima. Já tinha experimentado isto antes, mas não tinha corrido bem porque o Voodoo tem um fundo vermelho que não fica muito bem em gradientes. Mas pronto, segui em frente :p  No frasco, o piCture pOlish tem um shimmer dourado lindo, mas na unha nem por isso... destaca-se sim o shimmer vermelho. Apliquei de seguida uma camada generosa do verniz artesanal by Dany Vianna Leprechaun Gold da colecção de Halloween (o que é Leprechaun hehe?). Tenho pena que não se note tão bem nas fotos, mas os flocos dourados delicados eram bem visíveis na vida real, e ainda complementam muito bem a base <3

The flower pattern is part of a full nail pattern from BPS-L001 stamping plate. I selected part of the design and stamped using Dashica White. I love it!!! What about you? ;) Kisses,

Born Pretty BP-L001 Stamping Plate Review

Today I bring you a set of three nail arts I did and used to review Born Pretty Store BP-L001 plate accurately :) Born Pretty Store released their set of stamping plates a couple months ago and BP-L001 is part of a rectangular set that so far contains eight different stamping plates.

Hoje trago-vos três nail arts que fiz e usei para testar a placa BP-L001 da loja Born Pretty Store. Esta pertence a um conjunto de oito placas rectangulares lançadas há cerca de dois/três meses pela marca.

BP-L001 plate has a mix of 18 flowery designs. It's great for those of you who love more flowery & natural designs such as myself :p I have to say I was impressed with the quality of the plate itself because it stamps great! No flaw at all with the exception that the pink backing of this particular plate , which wasn't properly glued. But for the price? I'll glue it myself heheh.

A placa BP-L001 possui um conjunto de 18 desenhos com o tema de flores e natureza. É óptimo para quem gosta destes temas como eu :p Tenho a dizer que fiquei surpreendida pela positiva com a qualidade da placa. Aliás, não encontrei nenhum defeito com a excepção da parte rosa protectora estar descolada. Mas pelo preço, colo eu que não me importo hahah. 

The first nail art I did was before Valentine's Day and I was in a red kind of mood. I applied three thin coats of the jelly red glitter Penélope Luz Mary's Love in my ring finger and stamped the rose pattern over black with Dashica Red. Loved it! 

Fiz a primeira manicure e teste antes do dia dos namorados, sendo que estava com uma forte vontade de usar verniz vermelho. Apliquei três camadas do glitter vermelho jelly Penélope Luz Mary's Love e carimbei sobre preto com o verniz Dashica Red. Adorei!!

The next nail art was an attempt to make a sort of garden without having too much effort in the background. Well, it kind of backfired haha. The base is Essie Mint Candy Apple with piCture pOlish Voodoo in the tips. I used Mundo de Uñas Avocado, Pink & Mexican Pink to stamp with (my white stamper still shows the after effects of the pink stain).

A manicure seguinte foi uma tentativa de criar uma espécie de jardim sem despender muito esforço na base... claramente que correu mal lol. O verniz menta é o Essie Mint Candy e o castanho o piCture pOlish Voodoo. Para carimbei usei os vernizes Mundo de Uñas Avocado, Pink e Mexican Pink (cujos vestígios rosa ainda permanecem no meu carimbo branco).

The last nail art is probably the one I love best because it looked bright and gorgeous in real life and I'm not even a huge fan of green! I did a gradient using Kiko 643 Spring Green and Penélope Luz Saint Tropez, a textured forest green with sparkling green shimmer. Looove!! For the stamping I used Mundo de Uñas Avocado again.

A última nail art é possivelmente a minha preferida de todas porque adorei o contraste de verdes <3 (e nem sou grande fã de verde - coisa que parece estar a mudar hehe). Fiz um gradiente com os vernizes Kiko 643 Spring Green e Penélope Luz Saint Tropez, que é um verniz com textura arenosa verde floresta e shimmer verde lindo!

Mardi Gras Nail Art

Hello gorgeous! :)

Until last year, Mardi Gras day was a holiday around here. However, it no longer is and hence I work tomorrow. But I'm in a celebration mood, therefore at least my nails will match carnival! ;)

Como sabem, até o ano passado o dia de Carnaval era feriado cá por Portugal. No entanto, deixou de o ser e por esse motivo trabalho amanhã. Mas tal não me impede de pelo menos ter unhas carnavalescas! ;)

piCture pOlish Mardi Gras is just perfect for this nail art theme, don't you agree? :p I applied two coats over a regular black and then top coated with Kinetics Kwik Kote. On my ring finger I used gold polish and acrylic paints to freehand the Mardi Gras mask. I love the result, although its not perfect! :D

O verniz piCture pOlish Mardi Gras é simplesmente perfeito para este tema, tanto pelas cores dos glitters como também pelo seu nome! :p Apliquei três camadas deste verniz sobre um verniz preto regular e terminei com o top coat Kinetics Kwik Kote. No dedo anelar desenhei a máscara de carnaval com verniz dourado e tintas acrílicas. Podia ter ficado melhor, mas eu até gosto! :D

Sunday Stamping Challenge: Chinese New Year Nails

Hello babes! :)

Today's AIS challenge theme is Chinese New Year Nails for pretty obvious reasons ;) I did a sort of mix n' match nails for this theme. I think I could have given a more sparkly feeling to them... but I'm in the mood for something soft today.

O tema do desafio de hoje do grupo AIS é o Ano Novo Chinês, por razões algo óbvias ;) Fiz uma espécie de mix n' match, mas acho que se calhar podia ter adicionado algo mais brilhante e animado... no entanto, hoje estou com vontade de algo mais suave hehe.

I started by applying Ellen Gold Bella. Oh, how I missed using grey nail polish! I'm very pleased now :p. Then, I did the saran wrap technique using grey and white polish to give some depth to the base, On top I stamped the red flowers and green leafs from MoYou Suki 06 stamping plate using Mundo de Uñas Avocado, Mash Brunswick Green and Dashica Red stamping polishes. Then I filled in the flowers with the leadlight technique and top coated everything with Seche Vite. In the ring fingers is a cute chinese lady water decal (pattern B-104) that was sent to me by some lovely friends :)

Comecei por pintar as unhas com o verniz Ellen Gold Bella. Que saudades que tinha de verniz cinza; agora já estou satisfeita ;).  Depois apliquei a técnica saran wrap para criar um fundo com mais dimensão, usando para tal verniz branco, cinza e folha aderente. De seguida carimbei as flores e folhas da placa MoYou Suki 06 com os vernizes de carimbo Mundo de Uñas Avocado, Mash Brunswick Green e Dashica Red. Preenchi as flores com um vermelho jelly segundo a técnica leadlight stamping e selei tudo com top coat Seche Vite. Por fim, apliquei um water decal com uma mulher chinesa elegante no anelar que me foi oferecido :)
